The cab and the bed

Hi, I have a question on how far should the bed of a truck be from the cab?! How many inches?!

This is my 2005 F150 and i was wanting to know if that distance from the cab and the bed looks normal to you?! Becuz to me it looks like the bed has become further apart. And from the back window and the bed it looks like it has gotten farther away. What would be the cause of this?!

This is another image of the trucks bed and cab. Im jus curious as to how far apart is the cab and the bed suppose to be?! How many inches?!

that looks pretty normal

The cab is mounted on body bushings, and the bed is hard mounted to the frame. The cab is designed to move around a little as the frame flexes. You need some space between the bed and cab dont bang together going down the road

I don't think your truck is splitting in half, if that's what you're worried about.

Distance between bed and cab

Hi ya'll, thanks for your replys. No in not worried about the bed splitting in half. Ive just ben feeling some kind of small jerk like from when i come to a stop then when i take off. It just doesnt feel right. But it may have been what happened to me today when i was backing up to turn around in my driveway. It sounded like i had backed into something going about 10miles fast. The way it went
" BAM" and then my reverse quit working. I heard that a band in the transmission for the reverse wears out between 150,000 to 230,000. And mine is about 210,000. So this just sucks either way. But Thanks again for your replys! 😣

I'd get a nice reman transmission and swap it. Get something that has a good warranty on it.
