Arrow painting bumper

okay so i have an 07 and its got the really crappy plastic grey bumper and i really dont have the money to purchase chrome bumpers or painted ones. So does anyone know how to go about painting the front and rear bumpers to match the paint on the truck? And how to get the same shine as the rest of the truck?

man thats gunna take some work. the cheapest way would be to find some color matched spray paint and a compatible clear n go to town on em. of course, u will not get the same shine from the factory paint. the only way to get factory paint shine is to buy factory paint, and either buy a cheap spray gun (if u have a compressor) or use a preval sprayer. i have only used preval on small areas so idk how many cans u will need for two bumpers.. the tricky part is all the sabding ud hafta do to get that smoothness and ur buffing to get the factory sheen. so it is doable, but it can become costly. id say the spray paint is the best way to go for now, then just keep an eye out for painted bumpers in the future. i hope this helps

you def need a sprayer and get factory paint for it to look the best. if your looking for a cheaper route i would just take the krylon fusion paint and go black and then in the future take it to a paintshop.

I painted mine, not the real smooth look but I bought factory matched paint from automotivetouchup.com along with some plastic adhesion and clear coat and did it that way. I didn't sand it all down and completely smooth out the bumper but it still looks really good.

600 grit sand paper, "prep all" from autozone, lots of masking tape and newspaper. and 1 can of good quality (duplicolor) bedliner coating in a can.

sand like you mean it then wipe with prep all and let the solvent dry. paint and do not touch for about 6 hours. light thin coats make the world go round here. what you see there has since survived a new york winter and oodles of wonderful brine salt from the roads. it ate my rocker panels but didnt touch the bed liner coating.

heres how mine came out, i did the steps and bug guard as well.
