How to hang tow hooks?

I'm looking to swap my stock tow hooks for chrome ones. What's involved in changing them???

Why would you pull the bumper to remove tow hooks? Remove one bolt from the tow hook and loosen the the other. You can easily tell which one to pull and which one to just loosen. Then you can slide the old tow hook off.
Slide the new tow hook on put in the second bolt and tighten both. That is all I have had to do to remove the tow hook so I could put on a push bar. Never had to do anything with the bumper.

We (SM05 and myself) added them where we didn't have them before, but I understand what you're saying.

I understand. As Smokin Lariat has the 4x4, he will not have that problem. Very easy to do. Ought to take under 5 minutes a side.

Should also say, on the bolt that you only need to loosen, do not take it all the way out. There is a loose plate that the bolts go into, and it can be a bit of a bear if it shifts from the correct position.

This is the hook(s) I plan to install. Seems I recall when I looked at the stock ones a few days ago they have one bolt that goes thru the frame rail, the other only enters it - does not exit. Will these mount in the manner you suggested???

Exactly that way. If you notice on that one the front bolt is the one you have to remove completely. The rear you just loosen.
That assumes that the new one will fit over the frame rail. I don't remember the OE fitting that deeply over the frame, but could be wrong. You might want to check the OE to see if the new ones are similar. Otherwise it might not line up with the hole in the bumper correctly.

If you have a 4x4 I would think there should be. On mine each tow hook was held in by two simple bolts. The rear bolt also holds a threaded plate inside the frame rail that the front bolt tightens into. To remove the hooks you simply loosen the reat bolt --- it fits in a slot on the hook --- and remove the front bolt completely. Slide the hook slightly backwards and it drops right off. Reverse to install the new one.

Not sure about a 2x2...
