I painted them on my old 94 Yukon about 10 years ago... Sanded it and rattle canned them black. They turned out pretty good and lasted a while (about 2 years) then the truck was sold...

If I had to do it again, I would probably rhino-line them...Sorry, no pics...

I plan on buying some black nerf bars (I'd love to have N-Fabs') and having them Line-X'ed for Midwest winters...

Since you're in Florida, a rattle can job may suite you just fine.

I did mine a bunch of times because of rust. You're ok with aluminum so scuff them up good, I think they're powder coated and prime/paint. Are they what kind of finish now, polished aluminum, or brushed aluminum? If you go a dull black, use SEM Trim Black, Otherwise use a quality gloss black paint.

They shouldn't be, cast iron mostly on most if not all. My bbq casing or the shell is aluminum.

they were polished when they were new, but now they have lots of scuffs and scratches. i dont want them gloss black so i will give that trim paint a shot.. should i sand them down to scuff them evenly and use duplicolor adhesion promoter as a primer?? i used this stuff to paint the bumpers on my xterra and it adheared nice. no peals or cracks after 6 months in the hot florida sun.. after the adhesion promoter how many coat of paint shoud i get? maybe 4??, thanks
