FX2 grille

I just bought a fx2 grille on ebay for 75$ the color on it is grey but i want it black satin or flat black do you think i have to sand it and put a primer before or i just can paint it that way with krylon fusion, and by the way do you think it will be better to put a clear on it.

Thanks!

75$ its not that bad this piece here (quebec) cost with the surround a nice 427$ not paint so paint black satin and the surround will cost me more than 650$.

Let me know how it works out will ya? I was wanting to do this... but was very hesitant because of the "warning" . Let me know how it works and how hard it actually is to replace the grill surround (heard it was a PITA) Thanks a lot and good luck

Whoa... its rare that someone remembers something like that. Can't tell you how much I appreciate it. So, any trouble putting it together? Would you do it again ? Trucks looks great IMHO. Good job bud

I bought one off ebay from him too (drivetuscany). The broken tabs work fine as they just protect the real clips. I had to break or bend all of the tabs on my old one to get it off the surround. It is a small PITA, but if you remove the whole grille first, it's not that bad.

It took me about 45 minutes to put it back its simple but its very difficult not to break the tabs so i drilled some littles holes around the grille and the surround and put some metal screw and no its impossible to see them.
