Ford? Never Again. I dont thinks so!

I have a 07 F-150 FX2 Sport. Im really pissed right now. I have to small scratches that can probably be buffed out but I cant beleive how easily these trucks scratch. If its just me please tell me or is someone else experiencing the same thing. I have two other cars which are BMW's I dont recall them scratching or chipping easily.

you didn't mention what color truck you have vs. the color of your bmw cars. obviously, a black vehicle will show swirls, light scratches, micromarring, etc much more easily in direct sunlight than a silver vehicle, for example. therefore, a black f-150 will show scratches much more easily than a silver bmw, and conversely, a black bmw will show paint flaws much more easily than a silver f-150. get my point? i have seen plenty of black bmw's flawed and beat to hell with swirling, scratches, etc. i have also seen many ford cars and trucks with beautiful oem paint jobs. you also failed to mention how the scratches were induced, which may have been due to improper detailing technique, parking lot damage, etc. due keep in mind that ford does a much better job painting their vehicles than the japanese paint their vehicles. how often do you see clearcoat failure on an import? much more often than on a domestic...

Check it partner. I just wanted to know if anyone else was expereincing this. I dont need to trade it in. My color is red fire on the F-150 and I have a black and silver bmw, That's all. I was just pissed at the time I typed this but at the same time you die hard FORD fans kill me sometime. Dont act like FORD doesnt *** up either. I love my truck I just dont like the fact that I have two scratches which I think I got easily.

I have an 07 FX2 SuperCab in Dark Shadow Gray with a Leer 700 Series Tonneau cover and I don't have any scratches at all. Where did you get them from? Maybe it's where you park? Any trees with thorns etc. hanging over roads you drive? Maybe you drive too close to bushes?

Have you tried something to protect it just a bit, like wax?

Use a clay bar and some quick detailer? Post this problem over in Care and Detailing. there are some super smart cats over in there and they will be able to help you in a heart beat. Go take some pics so we know what your talking about. Also, if it was brand new you shoulda slapped a coat of wax on it. The factory stuff aint the best. Throw some good waxes on and that oughta protect it from scratching. By the way... its TWO scratches right? not to scratches?

To the original guy here, believe me, the more you try to avoid them, the more likely it's gonna happen. If you care too little, same thing, but bieng just careful enough is usually best. I just spent over 10 grand on a paint job on my old car for what, chips and scratches during assembly and accidents. I give up because it's going back to be touched up later anyways. The same guy showed me how to fix keyed cars with sanding and high speed polishing. It took alot of looking and finding the right angle to see any imperfections on the worst.

My old 2000 has a few scratches, stone chips but still looks great after it gets a proper waxing.
