Talking Fuel door Free mod

Well i saw this a while back, and hadnt seen it surface for a while, but heres my free mod i did today.

you can use just about any metal wire, like a clothes hanger etc. Ill have to keep an eye on it tho. If it starts to rust, ill pull it out and paint it.

I didnt have any kind of pattern to go off of, just kinda made it up as i went....

here are the pics

Not too bad!

Have you tried a screw in the threaded hole on the arm, it looks like the gas cap tether would hang there pretty well.

No more gascap scratches. Mine hangs good enough that it doesn't touch.

I didnt want a screw to go to deep and come out the other side. Plus from what i can tell b.c the teather is fairly sturdy, it needs more of a hook to hang on then just a screw.

I will probably refine it a little more today to make it look better, i just thought id throw the idea out there....

stealth do the 04+ gas doors look at all like that on the inside?

Just noticed tonight on my 05 there's already a little plastic hook on the arm. Never noticed it the entire time I've had this truck.

I used to own an 03 FX4 and I just took the Gas cap in my hand and "streched" the plastic holder until the gas cap was past the bottom of the fender. If you do it nice n easy it should strech pretty good. Just make sure it is not cold out when you do it.
