Cool

As far as I can tell it's that easy. Just the grill and bumper need to be changed. 99-01 should fit.

The Grille is no Prob but you will have to buy a little bracket to make the bumber to bolt on really cheap part

First of all I don't beleive the hoods are different unless they changed them up with out me knowing about it, or you have a different overall F150, but The bumber itself if you going to upgrade like I am to the Lightning front cap, a 2000 front bumper and the 98 are different, the little bracket is part Number, XL3Z-17B984-AA, XL3Z-17B985-AC, those are the brackets there are some bolts that go through them but check with your local ford dealer they can print you out a picture of the 99 or 2000 front cap, it will be under (175-bumpers, Jack, mirror, washer, Speedometer Cables) hope I helped if you need more info I will try to help you email me at LoweredFordF150@netscape.net

I am pretty sure the hoods are different . I used to own a 98 f150 xl and now I have a y2k f150 xl. The y2k has a look closer to that of a dodge, with the middle front secton being a little more raised than it was in 98.The raise in the hood occured at the same time the grills got changed.

Cool

Sorry Lightningcrashz but my friend just changed out the grill because he likes the "X" pattern in the 98 grill. It fits without any trouble and the hood gap looks just like it did with the 2000 grill.

I am sitting here looking at pics of my 98 amd my y2k.The hoods are different. Here is proof, My bug guard from my 98 would not fit the y2k. The middle, front part is slightly raised.Just the top side, the bottom front lines up really close to the 97-98 models. These differences are subtle.

i have to disagree. the hoods are all the same. i ordered a cervinis hood for my supercrew after a cat scrathed it all up.i had to take the hood off of my 1998 f150 and put it on there. they were both black and it fit perfectly without any problems. i now how a cervnins hood on the way for my 1998.

maybe you have one of those factory defects that ford always makes.

who knows.

Hey guys hape I can settle this for you. I looked up a hood for a 97 f150 and for a 2001 f150 you know what, their the same part #. To change the front grill you will need a grill, bumper, bumper mounts. If you need part #'s for these itams let me know.
