I don’t have a door crack but I have side panel cracks. It sucks because i got the truck one year ago and to me it’s still new.
They have to repaint the hole right side panel.

Got a new door 1 month ago, everything went well.
Also had the roof cracks taken care of.
The dealership worked for me (with Ford) to fix everything.Like others have said on this board you must act to get something done.And also, why should anyone be surprised if the dealership "didn't know about the problem"?
The only concern a dealership has is quota and telling you they didn't make any money on the sale.When they realize a future sale might be at stake then their concerned.QUOTA!

Here's some for your survey: I was at the dealership and there were 7 used F-150s on the lot.

5 of the 7 had driverside crack. None had passengerside crack.
The 5 were all '97 or '98 and had 20k to 40k mileage.
The two that had no cracks were '99s. I figured this out because I couldn't read the odometer on these two.

My '99, no crack, 20k.

1998 F150 Lariat, 18,000 mi. no cracks yet. I always try to close my doors with the windows up, that way the doors won't slam as hard due to internal cab pressure, also when closing my door from the outside, I always push it down low close to the handle instead of up high on the door frame. I don't know if this will help but so far so good.

 

'98 11,450 miles. No cracks.

 

99 32,000 miles no cracks or rust made in K/C on 12/98
