Hey Dustoff-
Yeah, I know all about Hudson, Wisc. and what goes on over there. Well atleast you are still going for the Vikings to win, but not till he!! freezes over. Well might as well try the local media first, as we know that it would take all of the online members to get the media to pay attention, and not all of them have the door cracks.

Hey Guys,

I guess technically, I am not a Twin Cities F-150 owner (I live in La Crosse, WI), but I did get my F-150 in the Cities at Brookdale Ford. Let me just say my experience was less than ideal.

A couple of days after geting it home, I noticed the truck leaned to the drivers side about 1 inch in front, and 1.5 inches in back. I called Brookdale to see if they would look at it and see what the problem is and fix it. They shortly told me "suspensions aren't specifically covered in your 30 day warranty", and that was it, no if ands or buts about it. In a way, I guess it is my fault for not seeing it when I bought, but I would have at least thought they could look at it for me and tell me what the hell I needed to do. Also, a pleasent attitude would go a long way. I also reported my door crack problem at that time, we will see what will happen.

The "after the purchase" attitude I got at Brookdale Ford will make me think twice about ever buying there again. Do you think becuase I am from out of state they figured I wasn't as important to their business?

If that is the only reason why they wouldn't help you out with the suspension and the door cracks is because you were from "out of state" then that is really bad. I guess that you can say they don't have that "Minnesota Nice" thing to them. Did you ask to talk to the manager of the used cars? That might have helped a little or maybe you have to give them a warning about not going back, and see what that would have gotten.

I am getting all 3 doors and tailgate replaced because of rust. It is in the shop now!

If you want a fix you need to file with the dispute resoultion board and then get a dealership that will help you. i got the dispute settlement to have them fix it. then the dealership that i took it to worked with ford to get them to replace the doors.

Gerry in MN.

Hey Gerry, that is good to hear though that you are getting some action done about the door cracks. What dealership did you end up going to?? Where in Minnesota do you live? Would you be interested in a get together sometime? We are trying to get something started up here, but just don't really have the numbers yet to pull it off. Guess that I will have to try that approach to get my doors fixed.
ZRracer & Ren-
Haven't heard a thing yet from anyone regarding the emails that I sent out, but I am still going to wait a bit, and maybe try to call the "dispute board" and see if I can get it fixed that way. It just bugs me knowing that I have the door cracks and they are doing nothing about them.

You know what I was just thinking, if I get my door fixed, I am not going to be afraid to use the windows on it, because if it happens agian, they are going to have to fix it, and then if it happens agian, then it is a LEMON, and they are going to end up buying it from me, even if it is a lease, as I plan on buying it when the lease is up. So I hope I can get them fixed soon!!!

Good luck with Ford. The repairs have not been completed yet. But as soon as i get it back it is off to the dealers to find a different vehicle. (Not Ford!) The rust and door crack where not the only problem with the truck.

I tried to get Ford to buy the truck back through Dispute resolution. Even though it had Qualified under the Minnesota lemon law(over 30 working days in shop including 3 visits for steering problems) they only authorised repair that should have been done before this. Ford will lie about the problems (said that it was selant flaking from drain holes in doors).

To get a buyback i would have to take it to court.

P.S. The dealership that is doing my repair is Tousley Ford. I bought originaly from Stillwater ford(They did nothing to help with my problem).
I also found that other non ford dealer will give you $2000 more for your trade that Ford. So mutch for loyal customers. Ford dealers are offering $2000 under blue book tade in Value(both stillwater and tousley).

Well I have gotten what appears to be 3 or 4 automated responses from Consumer Reports, Dateline, couple of the local TV stations (4,5, & 9 so far, 11, 23, 29 & PBS yet to go) plus I got Ralph Naders group also, etc. Most stated they will be referring it to the appropriate persons/departments for consideration. One thing I have been doing when I send one off, I've been referencing WWW.F150online.com and the specific pages from the mainpage with the response and comments on the cracks plus point them to the messageboard under 'other body' so they have something concrete to look at, not just another guy with a bitch to moan about.

I've always tried to keep it short, accurate and informative without coming across as a complainer, although technically that's what I'm doing (complaining about a problem and Fords inactivity in resolving it for everyone).

Keep it up, the more hits we do, the better chance of something taking a interest in this problem.

Good Luck to all.

If you are waiting for Ford to come up with a fix you may be waiting forever. (Their fix will probably be a discont on a new Rust bucket.) There will be no recall.

We went to the ford dealer to give them a second chance. The said they would get back to us. never called back. I called and they again said they would call back. still nothing.

I am now a happy Dodge owner.

Signed a now happy former Ford owner.

Well to those of you that posted....maybe we need more to send in something to get a response to the door cracks. It took a while to get a response, but I did get a response from Channel 5 in Minneapolis. Here is what I recieved:
"DEAR DAVID,
THANKS FOR WRITING TO CONTACT FIVE. WE HAVE TAKEN NOTE TO YOUR PROBLEM
AND WILL TRY TO CONTACT FORD TO LEARN MORE ABOUT IT. UNFORTUNATLY, WE WILL
NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO DO A STORY ON IT NOW. WE WILL, HOWEVER, KEEP YOUR
NAME ON FILE FOR FUTURE REFERENCES. THANKS AGAIN.
ROSS KIRGISS"

Guess that it shows that they read the emails, just not in the most timely manner, as I sent the original email to them on Monday, May 8. Oh well, maybe if they get enough of them, they will do a story on it. Just thought that I would keep you updated.
