5x7 - 6.5 adapter plates for 2001 ext cab?

Anyone know of a quality adapter plate to get some 6.5" in my front doors? I know there are 6.5's and 6.75's so I will call DD Audio to make sure first, but if you also know of 6.75" adapters I'm all ears. Thanks!

I made mine out of 1/2" MDF. All you need is a jigsaw and a drill. I actually made the plate much bigger than the plastic ones you find through retailers like Crutchfield and made them specifically for my 6.75" Polk midbasses. The plates cover almost a square foot and fit neatly behind the door panel. You can user a slightly thicker MDF and router out the speaker seating area for a best fit/function but with a little Dynamat in the right places, my speakers are night and day compared to stock.

Eventhough it be nice to find an adapter to keep the install time to a minimum....I will offer you a word of warning. Those 5x7/6x8 adapters to 6.5 don't fit ALL 6.5s......your best bet is to make them out of 1/2"-3/4" mdf....

Mine are for a 2006, not sure if they would be the same for a 2001.

Thanks guys, I'll order up the components and go from there. Off the shelf cheapo adapters would be nice, but I know MDF is the way to go. Going to try some DD CS6.5. Supposedly they "blow away" a $1,400 set of Focals and I believe it. DD is the $#!T.
