Which drag strip? I didn't realize there was one near Austin.

San Antonio Raceway. About a 45ish minute drive.

And I'll remember to grab some pictures of my set up some day. Been super busy with moving back to Austin from Wyoming. Really like having it though. Got to use it a couple times during the 1500 mile drive.

Yeah, that's fine. I've been hit with 4 heavy classes and when I'm not in class I'm after two monster catfish on the rivers.

Also, did you get my new phone number? I sent out txts from the old one but ran into some difficulties. I dont think I got a reply from you.

Will do. Did you see the pic of my 32 inch carp on Fbook? weighed over 20 pounds and I got it with my new bow out of my kayak. Then barely a week later I caught a 46 inch needle nose gar. Three weeks after that I had my first encounter with some giant fish that pulled me up the river (through tubers!). It was an interesting month.

PM sent, oh and I dont have your number so just send me a txt when you get everything entered.

No prob. I've got two kayaks now but I know some little dirt trails that go to a hole or two with some nice cats in them, you can just drive up.

Sounds good. Just moved into my house in Austin and I brought my rod from home. My dad laid claim to our tackle box, but at least I have something up here now...

I worked at a sporting goods store this summer (until I couldn't stand the people and business practices) but I was able to completely upgrade my heavier fishing gear. My big fish rod is now a Penn 309 on a heavyweight rod which I'm REALLY liking. It is like a winch on 25 inch catfish, it brings them in without a sweat so I can't wait to hook something really big. I also completely refit my tackle box for the bait fishing I do. Full nylon coated steel leaders, saltwater proof hooks, a few pounds worth of weights and barrel swivels...I still go the bargain cave at Cabela's for the lighter weight stuff though.

Town lake has some nice bass under those overpasses and along the bank. Never gone for big stuff while over there though. Only been there twice.

Thats awesome! Hope I can be around when you hook a monster...

Alright, I'll have to check that out. Don't really know of any places around here unless people tell me. You'll have to come up here sometime soon and show me the good spots you know of.

Tuning isn't really beneficial for CBs. SWR tuning is mainly meant for high-power amateur radios (I've got a 150W Kenwood HF that can reach Japan on 10W). Even if you've got a 1.3SWR, you'll only gain 1/2 to 2 miles dropping it down to 1.1SWR. As far as being in a line of cars with handhelds, a crappy 1.5-2.0 would be fine.
