Wait untill you put the midbass in the doors and fully deaden them, you'll get real upfront bass. Puts the sound stage right in your face, I love it.

Hey mSaLL.....

I know, huh ! :-)

I can totally imagine that these two things are going to make a night and day improvement with the sound staging aspects...... and make the whole install look so much more proffessional.

Peace,
Fish

ok i just started building a custom box myself yesterday... i was planning on putting black leather all the way around it.... but i like how you covered your box and the rear of the truck all in one vinyl piece or cloth or whatever... so my question is do you know where i can get a lot of black leather and how hard was it to pretty much do your whole back seat?

Hey will09, what you see in my photos is black carpeting I got from Home Depot. I got enough to do my entire false rear wall, and floor + my sub box, for about $50. How hard was it to do ? Not bad at all really. {not near as much work as building my false rear wall, floor, and sub box !} I just stapled it all in place, to get it to conform to the corners, and lay flat. My idea was to go back later, after it had conformed, and glue it all in place.... but it conformed so perfectly, that after I pulled all the staples, it didn't wrinkle or bulge anywhere, at all. So, I just left it as is.

Peace,
Fish

Leather will take alot more work.

You have to know how to steam it to get it to conform.

Hey Will09, I think you meant 8 x 12 sq foot piece :-) I think I used about 6 x 12 sq feet, for the back wall / floor, and the box. Judging by the price, your carpeting might have been the heavier / higher quality stuff...... which of course will be more durable. I just hope yours is as easy to work with (flexable) as mine was.

Post some photos when your finished.

Peace,
Fish

Hey will09, I don't remember exactly what they called my carpet.... I just know it was normally like $5.99 per linear ft (6ft wide) and I got it on sale for $4.39 per linear foot..... so 12 feet was around $50. Seemed plenty cheap to me, after spending thousands on the rest of the stereo setup.
