Question Question for Tim A

Tim, will a 99 or 00 factory cd player hook directly up to a 97 F-150?

If you can't can you get an adapter or harness to make it work?

If you have the midline or base radio in your 97 the answer is yes. If you have the premium system in your 97 (which has a CD button on the radio) then no. I don't think an adaptor harness is available.

Also, the 99 radios are bigger than the 97 radios (take up more space inside the dash) so I think you'd have to modify the mounting hardware too.

Ignore my previous post (I didn't read the question properly). I thought you were talking about the radio itself, not the CD changer.

Yes the CD changer from a 99 can work with a 97 radio, if your 97 radio has a CD button on it. Otherwise, the radio is not setup to work with the factory changer. A harness is available to connect it.
