H/U
Alpine 7995- $360 (pre-amp output only x6, XM/DVD/CD/mp3 changer x 6 capable)
super clean sound, the blue display matches the xenon lamps on exterior and the ford blue paint scheme

Amp
PPI 250 power class amp, about $300; (50w RMSx2)
can't get a cleaner sound out of an amp, and this thing pushes my 8" subs/x2 great

Amp
Eclipse 4460 $ about $400 (this amp also is 50w RMSx4 super clean as well. I use this amp to power the 4 door speakers.

Speakers 4x boston acoustics rally class 5x7 about 200 pr
Subs
JLw0 8" x 2, about 300 for pair, + ($300 for custom fiberglass kick panels, you can get a sealed box for about $100)

Wiring
2x/amp setup; $75 to $300 depending on the flava. For the power I listed 1x 4ga to amps for power, splice into 2x/8ga is satisfactory. use 8 ga ground wires somewhere close to amps. DON'T FORGET FUSES
RCA's
Don't skimp, they will run you about $100-150 for a good set for 6 ch.
They carry your signal, make sure you give it a chance to get to the amp

Monster Cable for the speakers x 6- $150

You should be able to pull this off for about 2k

Install it yourself; it's easy, and something you should know how to do anyway, it will save you big bucks in the long run.

I stated earlier, you can hook up many accessories to this H/U. I have
1, 6CD/mp3 chgr, you can hook up as many as 6 chgr's to this unit. With mp3's in the unit, i get about 60hrs of unes without a change, if I want to hear something different on the spot I change it on the h/u

Playstation2 (audio goes to the h/u, video is split to 1x15" r screen and 1x 7" f screen) this is my dvd unit, the cheap way, an my girl can't biyattch about playing video games when we are 1k mi from civilization

xm unit (direct plug in)

Good luck

This quote coming from one who touts Jensen amps; come on, give me a break. You are kidding, right?
I do believe if you walk into any upper end audio store you will find the Alpines as their top brand, alongside Eclipse, and no others. (save, harmon Kardon, Denon or Nakamichi...) Alpines may be ugly if you say, but they seem to be taking the valuable rack space that according to your opinion belongs so rightfully to Jensen. And by the way, aren't Jensen Amps purple? (I have an opinion too, would you like to see?)
By the way, who caries Jensen? Other than Pep Boys, or Wal-Mart(no offence intended to Manny, Moe, or Jack, sorry boys)?
what a joker

HAHAHA Weezell got offended by the Alpine "bashing". I thought bashing would be considered more along the lines of.. Alpine SUCKS!!! or Alpine equipment is crap!!!

Giving our opinions on the LOOKS of their head units is not bashing.. its our opinions. I don't recall reading anywhere on this thread where someone said their equipment SUCKED.. we just said we didn't find the LOOKS of their equipment particularly eye catching. And I stated that I thought (MY OPINION), in some cases, there is better equipment out there at a slightly cheaper price.

Wink

I never touted Jensen amps, I just said I had them for now, and that they had surprised many people who heard them before seeing them. I'm sorry that the Alpine head units are ugly, but save the personal attacks. It makes no sense on an internet message board such as this, especially when your only defense is in writing. You're showing your ignorance now, so I'd stop while you're ahead.,,,,98

Wezell please tell me you didn't pay $300 dollars for some W0's. That is sad. Very sad.
Alpine isn't that appealing and neither is eclipse on looks but they sound great. I love the way alpine cd players play bass songs. It is very clean sounding. Wezell don't diss Jensen. No one ever goes to walmart to buy stuff and expects to sound great.

for the pair, uh...

The man said he had 2k to spend, so I was offering a setup I am quite happy with. The components would be in the 2k range complete..
If he asked regarding a jensen quality setup I would not have interjected
98 squealer was ripping on the Alpine (once again, No accounting for taste) and he is running Jensen amps. If someone is ripping on Alpine's lacking qualities, and at the same time is running, well, Jensen, I feel I have a responsibility to myself, if no other to justify my position.

And I have.

I never said Alpine quality wasn't what it should be, just that they look funny. Grow up. If that's possible?,,,,98

That was a bit of sarcasm regarding where we were taking the thread, not a personal attack.

But he still has a higher bowling average than your dad

Thumbs up

I was speaking of personal name calling, products are public domain in my opinion. If you're that offended by someone insulting the HU you obviously have in your truck, then you have more issues than this message board can help you with. Consider my subscription to this thread ended, so anything you say after this will not be read anyway. Have a good one ,,,,98
