Stewscrew - I did not purchase mine from KarKraft, but I did put the Lightning front end (factory parts) on my Screw. See link:

Fine looking ride LightningCrew. Where did you get all the pieces for the front end?

Thanks!!! I actually had the dealer (Akins Ford) do everything before I took delivery. Everything was brand new Ford factory parts.

No, I did the 2" rear drop two weeks ago - very simple job. Bought Western Chassis drop shackles - they just replace the factory shackles - took me about an hour to complete.

jwrape - No, I actually live in Buford, but I have been dealing with Akins for almost 15 years now.

Question

What size tires do you have on your rims? They don't seem to be really low profile that come on the L's. They seem to fill in the fenders very well.

Awesome looking truck!

I'm in the process of doing the same thing to mine just takes longer when you do everything seperate.

Thanks Ga Southern Eagle!!

The tire size is 285/60/18. I purchased the wheels and tires off of eBay for around $1200 for everything. Go to this website:

http://www.afswheels.com/suv_trucks/index.asp

This is who was selling the wheels - they make factory look-a-likes. Near the bottom there is a link to price their wheel/ tire packages. Very good quality wheels and I have been very pleased with the tires (Falken) - good traction and very aggressive looking!!

I have thought about lowering the entire truck, but I am afraid it won't be as functional afterwards. I have already scrubbed the front end on the ground at the present height. Think I will leave it where it is and work on the stereo.

If I were going to do the same thing using all factory parts, what would it cost?

Mearnh - If I remember correctly, I think everything was around $1200 - parts, install, and painting.

I still question the bumper issue. I was told they had to put on the Lightning bumper to install the bumper cover (which they did), but I still wonder if they could have just placed it over the chrome SCrew bumper (after removing the airdam). I was getting a good deal on the truck, so I did not question too much about the add-ons that I was requesting.

Did I see you driving on 81 and 78 in loganville earlier this week? Right at the intersection where Maxi Price Corvette world is. Either it was you or a SCrew just like yours.

jwrape - yep, that was me!!! I live in Buford, but work in Covington Yes, it is one hell of a drive everyday, but at least I don't fight traffic. I am a microbiologist, so the job market is kinda limited - and I love Gwinnett County, so that is why I am still there.

Thanks again for all the great info and inspiration. That is a beautiful truck! I talked to my dealer and they are going to the same for me with the Lightning front. I also got my 20 inch Lightning Replicas this week. Now it's the wait that will proabably kill me!
