Pro Comp Off Road Lights: HID Conversion.
H3, 6000K is what I got.
H.I.D. stands for High Intense Discharge.
First I asked myself what color bulb do I want. I wanted the brightest white. I referred to the color chart and saw that 5000K has a lil yellow cast, 8000K has a lil blue cast, 6000K was perfect.

Bulb Color Chart:

3000K: Gold (highest lumen output)
4300K: OEM slightly off-white
5000K: pure white
6000K: white w/ hint of blue
8000K: blue
10000K: ultraviolet
the best nighttime piercing light is 3000K hands down. I've got 4300K which are barely noticeable of the yellow (which is what you want).
none of those are "equivalent". they all have different numbers because they all have their own differences. FYI 9008 was made up by Ford. The correct term is H13.
hey thanks. thats helps a lot! im gonna make my own front bumper and add some fog lights and get black lightning head lights. but until then im going to upgrade my kcs. need to get 4 more then ill do this. so then 8 hid converted kcs. what hid kit did you get? im thinking of 6000 or 8000.

I don't really like the blue cast thatz why I went with 6000.
How many fog lights are you going to covert to HID?

2 as in 2 pairs which makes it four lights or 1 pair 2 lights. Anyway, the HID kit includes 2 bulbs and 2 ballasts. So if you are converting 2 LIGHTS then you only need 1 HID kit.
2 as in 2 lights. but thats later once i make a bumper i like. tube bumper to hold 2 130 watt kcs and 2 fog lights wired to my fog light wiring. and 6 kcs on my roff rack that i want to convert too. and then head lights in black lighting style head lights. so total 2 head 2 fog 8 kcs. 12 lights. heads and fogs later. i mainly want to do the kcs soon. need to buy 4 more kcs then ill buy the hid kits. so thats 4 kits i need right? where did you get yours from? ive herd ebay was good.

Just found this thread! OGTerror referred me to this site off of a youtube vid
Way to plan with buying a "just in case" kit! I ended up doing the same thing, but in my case my sister came to "help" and tossed my harness and light down the driveway.
