HID recommendations?

I'm interested in moving to hi/lo HIDs on my 06 Lariat. Dozens on ebay and elsewhere, so who here has real experience with them? I'm looking for plug and play, easy install and reliability.

Thanks for your suggestions...

stay in the 4K to 5K range. that's where the white light is.

most kits are actually pretty reliable. look for ones that actually show pictures of the product and make sure all connections look like they will seal. don't just go for the cheapest kit. ebay can be a source for some pretty good deals.

I got my 8000k bi-xenons from Retro Solutions as well. Fast shipping and an excellent product. They do cost a little more but it's well worth it IMO.

x2.

The low beams are definitely bright but the high beams are still nice since they light up a lot more road ahead of you.

Only had experience with a single beam (9005), but VVME is good and cheap. Not sure how their bi-xenon bulbs hold up.

i bought brightstar 8k hi-lo and they have never gone out on me or have one hid light up first like those bootlegg kits where u gotta turn ur lights on 2-3 times to get it to work...ever since i popped them in there a charm....it has the hi beam bulb built on the side of the hid bulb, its a halogen, that makes the diff. between a bixenon and a hi lo....bi xenon throws the light up on hi beam while bixenon just switches the bulb from hid to halogen..i cud care less for highs unless ur out in the back country all alone and have no one to disturb..but then again im in the city

9008-1: Single-beam
9008-2: Low beam HID, high-beam halogen
9008-3: Bi-xenon (moving bulb)
9008-4: true bi-xenon (two HID bulbs per side, requires 4 ballasts)
