EZ Down: ANyone Have one of these? Is it worth buying???

Hey Gang,

I just stumbled across this. Looks cool, but do I really need it? Heck, do I really NEED any of my mods???? Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have this and what you think of it? Here's a link to their site

I bought and installed an EZdown on my 06 Scab about a month ago. I am very happy with it. It installs in about 10 minutes. I showed it to to friends that have new F150s and I ordered and installed theirs. I have it down to 5 minutes now. The kit comes with the necessary tork head wrenches to do the install. I paid $69.99 each shipped.

You can get them brand new on eBay for $54.95 shipped and sometimes even cheaper. One of my customers gave me one to try out a while back. It's a nice to have product, but it seems like it might stress the cable a bit more due to a sharper bend it takes when tucked in. My first one only lasted a little more than a week before it gave out, but its replacement has been fine. I doubt I would have even paid the $55 eBay price for it, but I'm sure some people will find value in it.

I put one on my truck the day I got it. I too got it off ebay for a little over $50. Well worth it. It has come in handy on many occasions. Plus the cool factor is quite high as well..
I have some installed pics in my gallery.

I have one on mine and as soon as a friend at the FD saw it, he ordered one too.

I really like it and install is a breeze. I got mine on E-Bay for $55.00 shipped from the seller in the link below. It arrived two days after the auction closed. Definately worth the money.

Everyone that sees me pull open the handle and them let go of the tailgate as is lowers slowly by itself says the same thing, "Did that come that way or did you do something to it?" They are always amazed.

Ameration,
Everytime I see your sig I always think of that blue camo for your paint.

Oh yeah, I have one of the EZ Down.
It is a nice touch kinda like slow close drawers in custom cabinets.

Just got back from Pep Boys and got the EZ Down from DEE ZEE for $38.00. There internet site says $65 and the sticker on the package says $49.99 but it rang up for $38 + tax.

I saw one no Trucks or some show...I guess I dont see the point.

If you have little kids or something that try to reach up and open the tailgate, it would be nice then so it doesnt slam down on top of them.

Otherwise Im at a loss for it I have a stellar mod that lets me lower the tailgate at any speed I want. Its called 'The Hand'

Sorry fellers

It's a lot more practical than it may seem. I can't tell you how many times my hands were full to the point that I could barely grab the handle, but I do, and the tailgate comes down nicley instead of crashing down.

It's kinda hard to explain. If you bought one, you would see our point. I promise..
