Post Street Scene Grille Installed On 4x4

The following pictures illustrate what a 1999 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 looks before and after the street scene install. If you are going to install one of these, just let me know and I will be more than happy to give you pointers on the process...

Before Installation:

After Installation At Night:

After Installation In The Morning:

Already had a neighbor stop by and said, "Awesome Looking!"

Any comments...

Looks cool! Have you stuck the blue oval up there to see how it would look?

Where'd you get that kit and what did it cost you? It looks pretty nice. I wonder how it would look behind a grille guard... How long did it take to put in?

I got it from carparts.com.

950-77720 99 FORD F-150 GRILLE INSERT 1
*Estimated Shipment Date: 11/08/2000

950-77725 99 FORD F-150 VALANCE INSERT 1
*Estimated Shipment Date: 11/08/2000

I got it for 33% less than what is on their site.

The installation took about 2 1/2 hours due to having to take the factory grill and shroud off and then painting the original grille black so you can't see through the new one.

That is sweet looking. Do you basically cut out the old grille and then put the inserts in?

Question

Do you have to remove the old grille? It looks almost like it fits over it. Does it affect cooling or air intake. I have the towing package on my 5.4L 4x4 ORP.

You don't have to remove the old one. I just painted mine black. The deinstructions stated just to put it on, however, after I did that and reinstalled it the grille assembly you could see the original one. After painting it flat black and reinstalling it, you can not see the original one until you are within about a foot and even then you have to look really hard. Some on this board have cut out the original... I just wanted the extra strength so I did not remove the old one...

I have the ORP and the towing package as well with the 5.4L, no cooling problems at all, no whistling at highway speeds as well... You get a lot of looks with it...

I like the look (especially on the silver, Robin)... seriously thinking about getting one. How does it mount? Any input greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm getting one too,but painting it gloss black. Then I may or may not put a 67 Mustang cobrajet emblem on it. I don't think they look all that good with the ovals
on them either (like the billets do) ,,,98
