You probably should have posted this in Chips, Tuners & Programming forum, maybe a nice moderator will put it there for you.

I like the EDGE Evo. It programs the PCM faster than other tuners out there and it is the best bang for the buck with the code scanner and gauge functions as well as the ability to customize the tuning settings. As for installation, just plug it in and upload the tuning. Some people have had problems with the drivers for the Lightning software not installing properly but those usually get worked out by reinstalling. The updates are free over the internet and they have added features to it based on requests from members here. E.g. idle speed adjustment and some other tweaks. Try the EDGE first and if you don't like it, you can sell it and get an Xcal2. That is what I decided to do and I have stayed with the EDGE.

We've got the Edge Evo... Installation took about 10 - 15 minutes and the mount sticks to the dash using 3M Molding Tape. Running the wire was extremely simple and plugged right into the connector under the steering column. We use it on Level 3 with premium gas... Makes a big difference in power & we did noticed better mileage (if you drive in a conservative manner). We had an initial issue with the programming but 1 call to Edge and they sent us a new one that day.. awesome !!

I have it and it rocks! If you want to be able to run custom tunes then get the gryphon.

Watch out for the P061F code. LOL, JK. I think my truck was the only one to ever get that code while using the Evolution. OP, you'll love the Edge and how it completely changes the way your truck drives. I upgraded my Edge for a Gryphon and should get it by Wed. or Th. Can't wait because my truck has been stock again for 3 months or so and stock is nowhere near as much fun as it was with the Edge.

Remember, it sat on the boards for 3½ years before mills914 resurrected it!

BTW, according to their site, Power Hungry will stop shipping Gryphons for the 97-03 gen. after April 15. Something to do with taxes?

There are no long term issues as far as hurting your truck. There was a problem with the cables and the Edge for the 97-03. If it were me, I would contact Power Hungry Performance and see what they are offering for your truck.
