Roger that.

Please let us know how you make out @ the dealer. Thanks!

Yep, I installed the same kit in my 2007 Harley F150. I had to modify a few things to get it to work with the newer trucks, but I really like it, and i can definately notice an increase in power.

What all had to be modified to install the 270 on a new body truck? I would like to do this too, but don't want a jerry rigged setup.

I did a rather detailed and lengthy topic a month or so ago. Do a search, and you will find all the info you will need. If you are comfortable wiring, and drilling a couple of holes, you will have no problems installing them. My install is not jerry rigged, it is just a litte more difficult, because the kit is made for a 2003 and older F150.

I built my own kit, so far have about 60 bucks tied up, and will have about 100 once i throw that other fan in.

I am totally happy with the results, i just wish i did them sooner! I noticed them the most when i have cruise control on, on my normal route going up a hill on the highway... Some of the smaller hills it no longer drops out of OD and will stay in OD all the way up the hill!

EDIT yes buckles, they take up the less space then the factory fan shroud behind the radiator!

What the hell happened to prices on the FAL 270's? I thaught I saw it in Summit's catalog for like $550, I only paid $409 about a year ago I guess now. Is a nitrous kit included now or something?

I use Perma Cool for my e-fan project

I recently had the Perma Cool dual fan setup installed on my 2003 F150, tied to the A/C switch, and looks to be a shallower profile than the flex-a-lite setup so now I have an unusually spacious area from the front of my block's accessory belt and the rear surface of the e-fans. Yeah, they cost more but that was taken care of in my case!! I also have the underdrive pulleys and already I can see an MPG diff just with in-town driving. I will be working with Troyer to get the best tunes I can for my truck, and one of them will be economy mode, however that is achieved. Bone stock my truck consistently gets 18 mpg on the open hwy, should be better now and better yet after the right tune. My perma cool setup uses 2 13" fans pulling 5500 CFM when both running. No need for any LEDs to be on when they are running, you can HEAR them!!

I think I'm going to jump on this e-fan idea this summer. I've been reading a lot of these e-fan threads here, and I'm stuck between the Jusnes kit and the Mad Enterprises kit. I like the reliability factor of having dual fans (although the Motorcraft RF 86 fan from Mad is supposedly pretty reliable), but I'm also concerned about the efficiency of keeping the fan shroud (Jusnes kit eliminates it).

So my question is what does everyone think is more imporant: efficiency of keeping the fan shroud (Mad Enterprises kit) or reliability of dual fans (Jusnes or Troyer Perf kit)?

BTW my truck is an 02 Supercrew FX4 w/ 4.6L engine w/ 38,000 miles on it. I only tow a few times a year, so this isn't a primary concern. I'm just looking for reliable performance on a daily basis.

Thanks in advance guys, I know this question was probably been answered somewhere, I just haven't found it in the 500 e-fan threads we have on this website.

I have the Troyer fan kit with a very negative experience.

You may void my experience if you are a street queen but you can't ignore the radiator leak the Troyer kit has caused. Then again you can argue that was due to obstacles offroad as well.

Here is a timeline of events with the Efan kit.

1. Installed Fans, nice gains, very happy.
2. One E-fan controller breaks while setting temp. Troyer blames owner.
3. Second E-fan controller breaks while setting temp. Yet again. This is a common problem as the temperature pots are very weak...rafa and several others have had both Troyer controllers break on them, Troyer replaced none.
4. Pismo trip, one fan burns out due to a little rinse in the ocean. My fault.
5. Recently, they caused a pretty good radiator leak. The leaking fluid burnt out the other fan. I used a radiator "STOP LEAK" product at the store, worked GREAT!

Result: I need to replace both fans, both controllers, and possibly my radiator soon. I think I'll be buying the Flexalite this time around.

I'm glad you posted that. That is another thing I'm worrying about, is how the e-fans hold up offroad. Everything else on the truck is designed to handle offroad driving, but the e-fans seems a little vulnerable. And having vibrations make the temp probe rub a hole in my radiator out in the middle of nowhere would curb my enthusiasm about e-fans real fast.

Anyone else out there experience problems with e-fans offroad?

i like my dual e-fans. i took my truck offroad and they would click on for 30-45 secs and then off for about 5 mins. seems efficient to me.

i also had bad experience using the troyer e-fans offroad, the vibration caused them to rub two small holes in my radiator, due to the way they attach with the copper rods, also went threw 4 controllers before i just hard wired them to a switch and a relay, so now i have to turn them on manualy, fixed the problem with the holes by using this mounting kit i got from mike at madenterprise.

here is the damage the kit caused i had to replace the radiator
