Ok I installed my AF1 wed night and i have a few questions for u AF1 guys. First of all, my truck doesnt run very well cold anymore. On first startup it almost dies and doesnt rev up very high at all, about 1200 rpm. And it has a hesitation when u step on it pretty hard from a stop. It hesitates enough that when it catches up with itself it chirps the tires. Has anyone else experienced this, i have no codes and no engnie light on. And my maf and my intake air temp sens are plugged in. My maf is pointed the right direction. Previously to the install my truck started perfectly cold and is a night and day difference in the cold driveability. One more thing, the hesitation does NOT go away when warmed up. You do have to step on it pretty good though to get it to do it, about 50% throttle or so. Other than that it is great, my torque has increased through out the rpms. Especially on the low end. And a little more hp is apparent as well. Well hope someone has run into this b4. Thanks for any replies

Once I put it on, it ran 100%.

 

Well i checked my vac lines and everything is good there. It isnt getting any better either, i dont really know what to do about it.
I dont really want to just put my old intake back on it to make sure the prob goes away, but if no one else has run into this, then thats what i will have to do.

 

I've got the AF1 on my 5.4 and haven't had any issues. runs like a champ

your computer should take some time to adjust but it still shouldnt run that bad how many miles have you drivin it?

 

It sounds like you have the A/F 1 tube blocking the holes on the rubber part (not sure what it is called) up near the intake. Double check that the holes are not obstructed by the tube.

i have an update on my mileage.....pullin the boat and cruisin hard im gettin about 15-16......which is about the same......but completely empty i have an outstanding improvement.its so good the first time i thought i screwed up my mileae figures. The next time i did an highway trip i checked it again with the results within a quarter of a mile to the gallon... I got 21.25 on the first trip and the other highway trip was 21.23??????Remarkably close....and sooooo good..dang i didnt expect mileage like that...That is what i was gettin when i first got the truck and she runs a whole lot better now....I also found a dyno the other day...i am gonna go and run it in a week or so.........ill let u know what my # are..
