Ipod Video out disabled from Apple

Well this sucks.

Just figured out that one of my updates killed all my ipods to be able to play video trough my Alpine HU. I have one Ipod cable for music and another ipod connector that plugs in to the HU as an AUX and plays video to my overhead...well at least I did.

In my wifes expy, her Pioneer (4100) can play video from the GUI...so it looks like i am set to get a new HU for the KR unless someone knows a hack to get the video output back on the ipod classics.

I think I am going to get the AVH-P4200DVD, since I am a dealer (well sort of, home theater business) the cost is pretty reasonable. Anyone else have that unit?

RollingRock

BTW I cannot find the right dash kit to fit an 06 F250...anyone know of one?

The only way I know how is to have a HU where you can control the entire ipod, my wife's Pioneer 4100 plays video just fine from the ipod.

I suppose I am just gonna pick up a 4200 and call it a day.

I have not seen this problem with any customer's ipod.
You sure it is not a setting of the "TV OUT"?
main menu
videos
video settings
TV Out (set to ON)

Sorry for the slow response....

Yes of course, checked that, still with the updates, Apple has disabled the feature.

It only works on the newer systems that can navigate from the HU to the videos.

Almost need to jail break it or something...dunno what to do with them, I am about to replace the HU so i can have video again in the truck. Apple shouldn't have done this, its total bs.

Ipod plays movies fine from the ipod itself, but you must now use an approved Apple device that can control the movies from the device. Like a Dock or another HU.

Hey Patman...long time. As for the Thumdrive, I have over 80 moives on my ipod and over 120 on my wifes...plus my Apline HU would be able to play them.....well, I suppose if I could plug a thumb drive in and test it, not sure how it would view the file system. Worth a shot.

Guess I will just get a new HU...anyone want to buy an Apline IDX-100
