Just a heads up to some of you guys...here in AZ they just passed a law where the name of the state at the top of the plate cannot be covered. Prob not going to get pulled over for just that, but its deffinitly there to add onto speeding, DUI, whatever. Just a heads up...

I also have a cheapo 20 dollar one off of eBay and it has been hooked up for over a year now and has gone through rain, snow, car washes and still works perfectly, even the IR leds add more light then you would really think. I have mine hooked up to my AVIC

Does anyone have any installation instructions for a Pyle PYCM7300 rear view camera and monitor, the instruction manual that came with it is incomplete and they do not have an online version. Doesn't even have a complete wiring diagra. I'd like to install it so I can view it at all times including when in reverse.

Yes, I just installed the same camera and I am having the same issue.
If I move the shifter back to park and try again it works correctly

I had the same problem. I had the tied the power into the reverse light in my drivers side tail light. I rewired the power to a constant 12v line in the trailer hitch and now I have zero issues.

I tapped in to the trailer hitch backup light circuit , that fixed the problem.
The trailer lights are on a different circuit then the backup lights for the truck.
Thanks for your help

Just installed a backup camera wired to a Pioneer AVIC-X920BT. Here are my findings... Some of which have been documented in this thread, but I will summarize. These are for a 2004 F150 SCREW.

- Camera itself was mounted on my hitch.

- Video wire was run through the frame and into the cab through a grommet under the passenger side carpet/floor mat. Poke a hole in the grommet and seal after with some goop of your choice. Wire runs to head unit. I had to extend this wire with an female-female RCA connector. Seal all connections with electrical tape.

- Reverse sensor/power wire is under the door sill plate and is BLACK (main colour) with a PINK stripe. There are lots of wires here. Search it out. A mistake made was a PINK with BLACK stripe, which is of course wrong. I tapped into the BLACK/PINK using a wire to my head unit.

- Power and ground for the camera was sourced from the 7 way connector. The orange wire provides the power and white is the ground.

- If you don't have power to the ORANGE wire on the 7 way connector when the truck is on, you need a RELAY in the position 5 area of your fuse panel. F0AB-14A192-A F0AZ-14N089-A are codes you can try with your ford dealer to source (about $10). No further wiring is necessary, just insert the relay.

Other items to note:
- If you don't have a seven way connector at the rear, run another wire along with the video and attach to a switched connection at the stereo end (usually the red wire). This is if you wish to have your camera available whenever the vehicle is on.

-If you only want the camera on when the vehicle is in reverse, you can power from the BLACK wire with PINK stripe, which is again in the passenger door sill under a cover.

Try this out and hopefully it answers a few questions.

Jr!
