I want Navigation

Ok so my car got broke into and they stole my in dash DVD player, so I figured this is as good of a time as any to upgrade.

What I want it to be able to do is

Ipod
DVD(when the car is moving)
CD(while still using the map) from my understanding some systems use a disc in the system.

What is the best system out there?
What are some things that I should look out for?

What systems do you guys have and what do you like/not like about them.

Also can a 2009 OEM system do this? I really like the OEM look.

Ok well from looking at my plugs it seems that I have only a single connector, and an antenna wire?

Has anyone done an OEM Nav upgrade on an 2004 screw?

I installed five of the new Kenwood DNX-6140s in a fleet of trucks. Gives you DVD, Nav and included bluetooth for under $1000. I wasn't even aware of them. I was going to pick up the older DNX5120s and add the bluetooth units to them but that same day the new 6140s arrived so I snatched up all five.

check out the Clarion max675vd and the Nax970 Navigation hard drive for it. I am using it and love it. The nav is seperate so it does not use CD's just a harddrive. I can watch DVD's and movies off my Ipod.

The 09 system will not work in your 04 truck. However, the 05-08 system will work plug in play with some configuration to the system. I have a system that I am looking to sell if you are interested. I can configure the system once you tell my your vehicle options. You will need to make some mounting bracket modifications.

Well I just bit the bullet on the DNX7120

How hard is it to install something like this? Im not stupid, Im a computer technician so Im pretty confident I can do it, I just have never opened up a cars dash before.
Also what is the best practice for mounting the GPS receiver?
Video Bypass? I dont plan on watching movies but I dont feel like pulling over to change stuff on the GPS.

Also I want to hardwire my Radar detector. I have the kit, but what wire should I hook up to so it turns on and off with the vehicle?

Thanks for all the help so far

Thats a good choice . Why the 7120 and not the 8120? You didn't need the bluetooth? Just curious.

I don't know what his reason was, but for me it was easy, 7120 was 8 bills, 8120 was 17 bills.

Also the 8120 only adds bluetooth, a front center channel, and a second usb port. Not worth double the price to me.

EDIT: In all fairness, when crutchfield had the 7120 new they were 14 bills, refurbished is only 8

If you look hard enough you can get the 8120 for around $1049. add bluetooth to the 7120 (I would have to have that) and your looking at around $925. But I understand your thinking on that, makes sense. What is 04Lariat talking about with mounting the GPS receiver? Isn't it intagrated in the 7120?
