Double DIN, F-150 2001

Everywhere i look for Navigation radios for My 2001 F-150 that are the non flip up double din they say the don't fit my vehicle. Does anyone know why they don't fit? is the whole just close to a double DIN, but not actually that size?
Basically i am looking for help in getting a nav system that works with an older f-150.

There is no kit for the 97-03 body style F150s to fit a double din unit. It can be done, though it takes a little bit of work to get it to fit. I currently have a Pioneer Avic D3 in my '99 and it fits great!

You can use a MET 95-5026 for trim. Just cut the plastic behind the radio to fit.

The factory radio and hole is only double din at the face . The radio tapers down to single din at the back . I have installed a few DD with some trimming .

I just took the radio out the other day, and there is plenty of room back there. I installed an iPod adapter for now just to get me through until i get a better head unit. And FX4 2003, no it think you will be able to get it in there, just check the fit first, and like they said, triming of the front panel might be needed.
Thanks guys!

I'm a little lost

I have a DD DVD Kenwoon DDX7015. Do I just trim down the internals? Or is there somewhere I can buy a new DD sized internal?
