Question about the KNA-G510..

On Friday I finally installed my DDX8019 in my truck... no problems there... took no time at all.

While installing the DDX, I also went ahead and installed my KNA-G510..

Everything works great, however, when I switch over to Nav, it shows the lightblue background that says Kenwood and Garmin (as if nav was loading), and keeps rotating through 3 different images...

It'll cycle from the first main page image that just says Kenwood and Garmin, to a page that says the same thing, but also has some sort of copy right thing at the bottom center of the image, to the final image, that again says Kenwood and Garmin, with "Loading maps" at the bottom...

each image stays up for like 3 seconds, then after the 3rd, it seems as if the image blinks, and restarts at the first image again, cycling through all 3 continuously...

thinking it was loading the maps, i literally watched it does this for about 15 minutes.... after nothing seemed to be happening, i searched through all of my wiring, and found nothing wrong. Everything is connected properly.

Any ideas? It was just opened out of the box.... would it need to be updated already?

about a year ago, I installed a DDX6019 and kna-g510 in my buddys F350... just don't remember it having a "loading time." from what i can remember, it worked instantly, which is why I'm stumped on mine.

try resetting your radio. To the left towards the bottom there is a place to put a head of a pen. Also you can reboot the nav provided you can get to the settings of the nav interface.

Where was this purchased? If it was an "Authorized" vendor then they should honor warranty of the DDX8019 or the KNA-G510 of there is something defective.

There's a very short wait time on the G510 no where near 15 min maybe 5 seconds after I turn the headunit on.

I tried the reset button today... all it did was cause me to sit there and reprogram all of my channels, reset the xovers, the clock, and everything else, lol. the navy is still doing the same thing.

i'm guess i'm going to have to return it (yes it's under warranty).

thanks for the help anyhow, guys.

If only Pioneer would have partnered with Garmin...
