Depends on your truck. My ipod cable goes down my dash, under the carpet, and into my center console. Right now my GPS antenna is just tucked inside the center console as well (works fine) because im just to lazy to run it. On the newer trucks like yours, ive seen them run up to the top of the dash out where the little tray is on top. Im pretty sure AZMidget has pics of where his is mounted for his Alpine.

I installed my D3 a week ago also and I just attached it to the Blutooth box by it's magnet and then after wrapping the box in bubble wrap for protection, I stuffed the whole box behind the D3 before shoving the unit into the radio hole. Now it's inside my dash and only covered by the plastic of the dash so there is no interference and it works perfect. Also no one see's the tell tell sign of a GPG unit to steal.

I just purchased this system as well and I want to install it myself. Can you tell me where I'd find the Reverse Gear Signal Input wire, Parking Brake wire, Car Speed Signal Input wire, and Antenna Control wires in my F-150? I also need to know their colours.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris.

If i had a question geared toward an AVIC unit i would search there. Since my question was for the Reverse Gear Wire location on an F150, it would only make sense to ask around here. There are plenty of guys on here who have done the install.

Searched here and there, no one has a def. answer.

reverse - blk/pink in driver's kick panel (only for back up cam)
VSS - Grey (if i remember correctly) in radio harness
Parking break - look at the parking break assy and it will prob be the only wire attached
antenna - ??? you mean antenna turn on from aftermarket radio harness? if so, it goe to same blue wire on the harness that you bought to plug into the truck, but I dont think we need it.

dont have a pic of it on the screen, but if you squint, you can see it mounted in my trailer hitch cover

(which I made removable. I dont really need it on when I have a trailer back there)

I didn't install my D3 so I don't know how much help I'll be but my iPod cable is running directly into my glove box and my GPS antenna is mounted on my roof on the driver's side close to the windshield. It was run up my front pillar and I have no idea how they got it through the windshield. Great reception up there for the GPS.

a bit dirty, but here ya go, close up of the cam and the screen.

only complaint is the image is a bit red when the sun hits it directly, but when you get close enough to need it, its in the shade of the car you are backing up to. here ya go:

looks good. Does anyone know if an avic d3 camera will fit in the new tailgate handle with the back up camera built in. i think that would be awesome if it could.
