Question ? for KC Autosound

Hey KC just came across this, JVC KW-NX 7000. Have you seen this unit yet, and if so what do you think. May just change my mind on the Kenwood 8120.

Seen it and put my hands on it. It was in the JVC demo vehicle at my dealer show last month. I really like the proximity sensor when your hand gets near the screen to bring up the buttons and also the fact that you can remove the faceplate if you wish. It's got both a USB and SD slot.

Two things against it is that you must purchase the bluetooth adapter for it where the Kenwood 8120 has it built in and also ITS NOT IN STOCK YET. F'N JVC and Clarion are soooo freakin slow getting these units into us retailers hands it's killing me. I'm still waiting on my 8120s to hit me for my customers. It's a bad cycle.

I can't afford to pay bills because I don't have the product in my hands to sell and the longer I wait on it I'm exhausting the funds in the business account that will be needed to get the product in the first place to sell to my customers. And these low balling ****** on the internet are rotting the business to where all we can do is close our doors. Sorry to vent there but it's just frustrating.

I do like the JVC unit and it looks very simple to use. I spend about 15 minutes getting a run-through of the unit from my JVC rep at the show and I liked the radio quite a bit. The unit is supposed to be available mid-June.

Thanks for the reply and I don't blame you for venting, I'd be one of the ****** to buy from the low balling ******(sorry, but money is a big factor for me). As for the bluetooth, I already have the adapter for my kd-nx5000 and this one uses the same one, plus I already have the JVC Sirius reciever, so this unit would be cost effective for me as opposed to getting the Kenwood. I really want to switch over to a 7" dbl din and I like the JVC equipment. Thanks again KC, YOU THE MAN!!

I get quite a few emails daily about people asking me to price match with the low-baller websites. My site is more of a online catalog for what is available to be purchased from me locally. Much like a Circuit City, Best Buy or even Crutchfield with the exception that I will usually beat their pricing. It wouldn't be fair for me to sell to a customer here and then have them look at my online store and see that I sell it at a SonicElectronix price. With my pricing comes FULL warranties that are honored by the manufacturer and a person willing to go the extra mile to make sure a customer gets taken care of in a timely fashion. I get quite a few emails weekly from people that have purchased their alarms or audio products from someone else and find out that either the place will not warranty the product or even the manufacturer will reject it. So they'll email me and offer me money to try to warranty it for them. I say you rolled the dice!

Now a days money is a factor for anybody, it doesn't matter if you are a retailer or a consumer.

I can, as well as many others here on the site, vouch for Travis and his store. If you are able to, it is far better to purchase from Travis Vs. other online stores. Travis will go the extra mile to help if there is a problem. I bought a remote starter from him and haven't got a chance to install it yet. But Travis has taken the time to explain the process and product to me at length over the phone. Not to mention that he is able to stand behind the products he sales....

Not to sound like a salesman here, but I just want to let everyone know that there is more to buying a product than just the price.........you may save money by finding it cheaper, but it may cost you more in the long run.

Just my .02

I will always back a store vs. an online retailer. Because I am a store dealer myself. And I feel the hurt of cheap online sites all the time. I know I dont feel it as much as Travis or other small shops but its really plaguing the industry.

I think it's interesting although price is important its also important that people need to make some sort of living. I was talking to a guy today about the product that my company produces and he explained that he could build our product for much less. Well no **** you could do it for much less, its your own time. Not to mention that if you attempted to do it on your own it wouldn't work and it'd cost you more in the long run anyway. Anyways, not related but thats my venting. thats really what you get when you purchase from someone that is an authorized dealer is knowing that if you have an issue or a question they can help. KC is a little nicer than me in that he answers questions for people not asking for their business. I tell people to **** off when they attempt something on their own and want us to come fix it.

I've learned that you need to pay people for what they are good at as you get paid for what you are good at. Even if what you are good at is flippin burgers.

Too bad this doesn't seem to be true for him anymore. He intalled a 671 with the car link in my Taurus that first wouldn't send a signal to the 2-way remote. He finally brought the RF programmer and fixed that after a couple of months, but since then it won't stay running after remote starting it. For nearly a month now I have left messages and sent email, yet have gotten abolutely no response from him. The remote start is really the only feature I bought it for. This was the 2nd system I bought from him, and having $400.00 invested in something I can't use is very frustrating. Beware if you plan on dealing with him.

I have to agree with the above post, I bought a srt9000 from Travis, totally great service and excellent tech support, and even when the 2 way remote died within 6 months, Travis told me he would take care of it!! BUT thats where it ends!!! sent him my remote and was told he would change it out and send it back. Now I have sent numerous emails asking for an update with no responses. I have even said I'm willing to pay to get a new one, just don't want to be stuck with one remote!! ARGH! anyhow not sure what the deal is lately with him, hopefully someone\him will chime in?

Still waiting for a resolution at this point. I'll post an update if it occurs.

Guys I so sorry. I kinda went into a funk for a little while. Almost a "burn out" thing with all my work I been doing and I'm sorry. My day starts out at 8am and on most nights ends around 2/3am every single day. It's true that you work more for yourself then you do for someone else. My vacation was much needed and I'm back on my feet again. My wife and I even discussed that if I'm going to be working like this then I need to plan some small relaxing times for myself every few months. Just a "get away" time. Sounds good to me I just don't know how feasible it is.

Anyways I'm not trying to make excuses here. I've dropped the ball and want to get it straitened out. Yesterday I got home at 7am from a 16 hour drive from Colorado and simply crashed for almost 14 hours of sleep. Damn that was a long drive.

82chester I need your mailing address. I know you're in Canada but you sent me your package with a different address here in the states. I need to know what address I need to send your new remote and charger to. I'm embarrassed to say that I have had it for a while in a bubble pack waiting for the address. I had put it in a box in my truck with some other stuff and kept forgetting about it. I dug through my spam folder and seen your last email you sent me. Sometimes they wind up in there and I loose them. I get sometimes over 1000 spam emails a day and I try to skim through them so I don't miss anything. So sorry man. Please email me the address or PM me and I'll get this out the door to you.

kcmatt I tried contacting you last night both mobile or home. Please contact me and I'll run up the highway and get this vehicle solved.

I dropped the Ford Accessory contract today. This will free up a lot of my time that gets eaten up by them. They simply cost me more money than I make from them. Ford dealer work has slowed down so much. I am only making $2000 a month from them but it is costing me nearly $800 a month in just fuel running around Kansas City all day. I have worked with the dealers for them to simply call me when they order the product and I'll just put it in. Cut out the middle guys that are eating my profits. This will free up a lot of time that is wasted running around town to put on step bars or bed liners that only pay $25.00. Hell I eat that in fuel getting to the dealer sometimes. Because of the loss I would have to schedule quite a bit of after-hour installations that would keep me from my family and burn me out. I handed the work off to my competitors and I'll let them deal with the headaches of Ford Accessories.

Also for anyone that is interested I have picked up two new distributors that now allows me to get vehicle accessories such as step boards, bug shields, performance parts and the list goes on.

Fair enough. My mobile didn't ring, but the wife did tell me you called the house. I have no problem giving you another chance. I am looking at buying a 94 F150 and it's going to need a system as well and I really don't trust anyone else. Communication is very important. I'd rather have you tell me that you can't get to it for a month or two than get no reply at all.

I described the remote start problem to the folks at Audiovox, and they said that if switching that voltage setting didn't work then hooking up a tach wire would solve it. I assume you didn't hook up a tach wire since I tried to reprogram the tach sense and it could not pick up a signal.

It rang till it came to the voicemail but I hung up and called your home figuring that maybe it was turned off when you're home.

Looking at a 94 huh. You're going back some years from your previous truck . I can make a 94 sound great. My dad has a 95 with the 302 in it and it sounds awesome. He likes his Pink Floyd to sound good...lol I didn't put a sub in it but we did go with some nice 6 1/2s in the fronts and 5x7s in the rear off of a nice 4channel amp. He listens to a lot of western audio tapes when he travels to the gun shows so he didn't want to bother with the subwoofer bass. He's in his sixty's so he hates the 'boom boom". Up front he has a older Sanyo din size CD/Cassette radio that still works but he's liking the new idea of a CD player with a USB port after I showed my mother how to download her music to her mp3 player. Older folks are so stubborn to the new technology but they are getting there.

On my dads truck I punch a hole through the roof for a K40 roof mount antenna and he runs a peak-n-tuned Cobra 29 Classic and a 500 watt linear amplifier. This goes back to my old days working for a car audio/CB shop. My dad still uses his radio when he's on the road. He's thinking about switching out the Cobra 29 Classic after I showed him the new 29BT that has Bluetooth built into it. Now you can have a CB that will also work with your mobile phone as well.

Anyways hit me up this evening and we can schedule a time to get your car fixed.
