The pics on here don't do either kit justice.
Which one did you decide to go with? Thanks!

ah bummer man. Don't fret, I can't imagine Crutchfield being out of stock for too terribly long.

Actually it may be a blessing in disguise. The new Kenwood 512 looks very close to identical to this except with a matte finish to better match our truck and a better Sirius interface. Maybe I'll just wait for them to hit the shelves..

So I was cruisin the avic411 forums and read several times that if you have never installed a stereo before then the D3 is not the first one to be experimenting on. Is this a tougher install than most aftermarket units? I'm hoping to get mine this week and have purchased the Metra wiring harness and dash kit to try the install myself, but certainly don't want to be burning anything up in the process. Thanks guys.

The D3 is back in stock at Crutchfield and I pulled the trigger and got one. The cool thing is there is a new Sirius tuner kit out for the Pioneers. Hopefully now it'll show more than 1 line of text..

The DNX5120 has built in navigation and is VERY similar to the D3. The DDX512 is everything the 5120 is but without navigation, but it can be added later.

The 5120 will MSRP at $999 (exact same as the D3 oddly enough) and the 512 is $599.

You can get all the info here.

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert.../Mobile_Video/

But I still don't know when they'll be released so I said F it and picked up a D3..

Dumb question here. I have an 08 F150 Screw FX2 and it has Sirius Sat already. If I purchased an AVIC-D3 would I have to purchase the Sirius Adaptor in addition or can I use the existing one in the truck (if there even is one in there already)

you have to buy the sirius adapter made for pioneer headunits.

Figured as much. What about the antenna, is that the same connection on all of them or will it need to be replaced as well ?

I can't answer that question with the pioneers. I'm getting the Kenwood adapter and KCAutosound, on here, explained to me that the stock sirius antenna could be used with some very easy and minor tweaking to the connector. That was something I was concerned with, as I didn't want another puck on my roof.

There are plenty of D3 users on here so you should have an answer about that in no time.
