Nice Install. I have two questions for you...

1.) Do you have audiophile and if so do the controls still work?

2.) You said you got the Sirius integration, can you post a pic of the sirius display?

Thanks!

Awsome job, very clean looking. How did you get the Ford Oval and F-150 logos on your monitor, i think thats a nice touch. Is that something thats exclusive to Pioneer stereo's only or can the Kenwood's do it also.. Thanks and looks great...

My truck didn't have the Audiophile, so I'm not sure on that one.

I don't have pictures of the Sirius screen on my D3, but if you go to Pioneer's website there's a nice little interactive tour of the D3. I'm sure it's on there.

On the D3, you can create custom backgrounds and upload them..similar to the Kenwood's capability, I believe. I created mine in Photoshop and uploaded. I've already changed mine from the one in the picture...using a black diamond plate background that looks pretty cool with my Husky Liners in the floor, with Ford Logo and F150 logo of course.

So I was at Best Buy last night looking at this system and the salesman told me something that pretty much would remove this system from my wish list. To use the navigation feature you have to pop in a dvd which takes away the ability to view movies or listen to cd's. Is this true? If so why is this system so popular? I would think that on long trips you'd want to use that navigation system, but you also be wanting to listen to some music. What a PITA it would be to have to keep swapping out cd's & dvd's depending on what you're trying to do.

Do all systems work on this same concept?

not all units work like this but What you heard was true however when you do a route it will store that route in its internal memory. If the disc is removed it resorts to "memory navi mode" which allows you to watch dvd or play cd's without sacrificing losing your route. you will need to re-insert the disc if you need to re-route or zoom in i believe closer than 25 mi but not sure.
