How does it matter?? Like if you were not able to produce a receipt for a warranty replacement or repair? That makes sense...

How often do you think these things break?

The man has a point!

Not too often. But the better question is "do you feel lucky, do ya?"

Well heck then we should all go shopping on eBay and hope for the best.

Sometimes you're just willing to pay a little more for that piece of mind. It's like insurance, it's a huge waste of money until the time you need to use it.

Which is exactly what I did.

Picked up a brand new D3 for $489.99 with free shipping and insurance for an additional $5.50 so all total I'm getting a new D3 shipped to my door for a few cents over $495. Thought it was too good of a deal to pass up. The seller had 10 for sale and I bought the last one.

Heres my question? How can the person sell it under around 200$ under cost and still be profitable?

Pioneer's cost for the D3 is 675...?

Not sure, but I've seen several on ebay for the low $500's and that is brand new. I've also seen people on ebay claiming that the normal price for these units is over $1100 so by buying from them for $750 you're saving well over $350.

I will certainly let everyone know how it turns out when I receive it and the good thing is I always pay with paypal so I have that protection.

Can someone tell me the difference between the Metra 95-5812 and 95-5807 install kits? They both say they're Ford/Linc/Merc Multi kits for 04-Up. I just want to make sure I get the correct kit. Thanks

From what I have read up on they will both work. The only difference is you will have to cut out the center strip on the 5807 kit where as the 5812 kit is already cut open for a DDIN radio.

Backgrounds

Here are two of the background requests I have gotten done so far... Let me know what you think guys. Tony had me do some with "Kenwood" on them... that can easily be changed at your request.

I too am torn by Crutchfield's stellar deal. I want the deck to sit flush in my dash for an all but OEM look. Does anyone have a picture of a quality install D3 in an 04-08 F150? I would definitely be going with Crutchfield so does anyone have experience with the kit they include and can tell me if the deck will sit flush with it?

You're not being rude at all. I did see those pictures but with shadow and flash glare it's honestly hard to tell the depth and flushness (I think I just made that word up) of the units, which is why I asked for a quality pic. OEM appearance is important to me (I'm too ****) and want to see how good it looks. If no one has a different picture that's fine, but it was worth asking. I should have said a "quality pic" instead of "quality install". I don't mean to insinuate those aren't quality installs, just looking for a better pic.

I was in the same boat as you. I ended up getting two kits (Metra and Bestkit) and seeing which looked better on the unit and in the truck.
The pics on here don't do either kit justice.
