AVIC Z1 and Dimming Wire

I've been searching everywhere for an answer without any luck and was hoping I could get some help. I decided to let a shop install it because it was free...but in the end nothing would work and I had to go in and fix it all (BT, iPod, Camera, etc.) Anyway lesson learned...but the thing is these guys snipped off the HU orange/white wire (ILL). I need to extend it but the thing is I'm not sure where I have to connect this to. What color wire is the factory illumination wire? I read somewhere that it was light blue/red. Any confirmation or correction would be greatly appreciated. I know it's more of a convenience thing to get this connected, but I can't do the bypass without it (or so I have read).

I was going to say. I thought you figured this one out already and did a write-up. Great job by the way!

I'd be sold on the Z1 if I wasn't hung up on the blue buttons and lack of RDS.

Then again I'd be sold on the Kenwood if it wasn't the 5-6 million POIs versus the 11 million in the Z1 and the lack of hard drive or good IPOD interface in the Kenwood.

Gosh darn it, why can't I just find the perfect one. I mean for $2,000 it should be perfect, because I could just do the rims I want for that price. (AE 026 22"s) Can't half both.
