That is an outstanding system. You have got to love working with Crutchfield.

Quick Question...

I am interested in the same setup for my '05 KingRanch, however, on Crutchfield they currently list the 099AVN5435 Eclipse for $1699.99. Did you catch that unit on sale from Crutchfield or did they recently increase the price?

The deal was 5% head unit discount with 10% if you purchased a Sirius or XM receiver and 15% if you purchased head unit/sirus reciever and speakers. I didn't need speakers but by purchasing them for $67 it took 15% of the entire order! It was a combo sale about two weeks ago. Lucky timing on my part.

I hear it's wireless and sometimes it gets interference and does not transmit the function you press, and sometimes it even does something you don't press, for instance you can press volume up, it might go down. I am just making you aware, but I believe interference is rare.

Eclipse 5435

Hey viper, I just had my unit installed today...on the main menu, of the four buttons to choose from, the only one that is blue and responds to the touch is the upper right button. The other 3 are grey and cannot be used for some reason. Did you have any similar problem? I have looked in all 3 manuals they provide for troubleshooting, but I can't find anything. I don't know if my dealer screwed something up, or if something is wrong with the unit itself? I bought it from Crutchfield, too, can they help?

I am just guessing but I believe whatever is greyed out is unavailable because it is not installed (i.e. backup cam, etc). That is just my $0.02 of common sense. Good luck.

Nevermind....

Regarding my previous post, I called Crutchfield and found out that I have to have the parking brake engaged to access any of those features. I can't even program a route without the parking brake engaged. Can I bypass this feature at all? I understand the safety reason behind this, but why would I want to sit in a parked truck and watch a movie? I'd rather lay in bed! Can I ground the wire anywhere else other than the parking brake? I didn't mean to pay $1700 to sit in my driveway and watch movies. I want my passengers to be able to watch when we are on the road. Also, I have the Sirius adapter installed, as well. How do I view the song names, etc., and not just the channel it is on?

There should be a black wire that goes to the head unit, ground the parking brake wire to that and it should work.
