Differences Between Mark LT and F150
if anything would alter my buying decision between the two, it would be the overall appearance, which in itself is not that far apart. both trucks are beauty's. the iconic f150 is for your rugged truck guys that like to get em down and dirty all the way to the high class ranchers taking pride in the castano leather in tgheir king ranches. the mark lt is for thos'e of us looking to turn heads via all the chrome and glitter, and the "o.c.d.'s" like myself that take pride in the fact that for the extra money i paid for my truck over the f150, i may not have gotten a clean slate lincoln all its own ,but rather a satisfied step up with little bells and whistles such as "better quality leather", "real wood", (or so they say) and chrome lincoln stars among other few things exclusive to the mark lt.

Secondly, like I said in my previouse post, perhaps your IS real wood, but that IS NOT standard on Lincoln Mark LT's. Perhaps your SPECIFIC dealer put it on as "extra" to try and grab one or two more customers. Seemed to work pretty good, since you are pleased with it (rightfully so).
No, Tow package doesn't mean simply a hitch. Thats where the trick you. Its the gearing, its also the size of the trans cooler, which was my biggest complaint. Non tow package get a small dinky one, where tow package gets a much larger, much more useful one. So, FoMoCo simply lied on the paper. Plain and simple. (FoMOCo has little to do with each dealership. They represent FoMo, but each delaership is its own entity.
What year ?
Blackwood was the last 5.4 4 valve equipped vehicle. Not a single Lincoln Mark LT was equipped with it. Thats a direct quote from some buddies across the street.... at a Ford/Lincoln dealership.
Lincoln introduced the InTech version of the 5.4 L modular engine in 1999. It features DOHC heads with 4 valves per cylinder.
This engine uses a cast iron engine block and aluminum cylinder heads. It is built in Romeo, Michigan at the Romeo #2 plant. It uses SFI fuel injection, has roller rockers, and features fracture-split forged powder metal connecting rods and an assembled reinforced plastic intake manifold.
Output is 300 hp (224 kW) at 5000 rpm with 355 ft.lbf (481 Nm) of torque at 2750 rpm.
Vehicles using the 4-valve Intech engine include:
1999-2004 Lincoln Navigator SUV
2002 Lincoln Blackwood pickup truck
Ford Triton engine - 3-valve
In 2004, Ford introduced a new 3-valve SOHC head, improving torque. This engine also includes continuously-variable intake valve timing, and first appeared in Australian Ford models [1]. The engine is built at Ford's Essex, Ontario plant. The engine is not generally referred to with either the InTech or Triton name.

Output is 300 hp (224 kW) at 5000 RPM with 365 ft.lbf (495 Nm) of torque at 3750 RPM.
Vehicles using the 3-valve engine include:
2004-present Ford F-150
2005-present Ford Super Duty (250-550)
2005-present Lincoln Navigator
2006-present Lincoln Mark LT
There is a mod you can eprform, which you take the older 5.4 4valve heads, and mate it onto your 5.4 (3 valve) block.
Talkin to the Ford guys, I found out the damn SVT Cobra came with a 5.4 4valve in it for a little while. Could you imagine that engine in a little Stang ? Would be sweet !
I'm not saying they do, but i do know of a few local dealerships here who've done so. (for example: go check dealer mark up on a 2009 v8 dodge challenger)
Actually, i believe the dealer has the option of printing their own window stickers. Thus they can throw in extras to sucker you into paying more, whether it's dealer mark-up, all-weather mats, chrome rims, paint protection or whatever other gimmicks they come up with, and throw that onto the right side of the sticker on top of the MSRP of the car/truck.

A friend of mine who is another car/truck guy said the Lincoln Mark LT is a Ford F-150 in a tuxedo, I agree with him.
Has anyone purchased a new 2008 LT in the last few months? I would like to know what you paid for it less tax & license. What was the MSRP and what did you get it for? I am looking to purchase a new one.
You're right. I checked yesterday and it look the exact same, except at the bottom it had fine print saying it was added on by the dealer. Fooled me.
There hasn't been any on my nearby dealer lots for at least 2 months now. If there's one close to you I would get it, it's gonna be a great price. $6500 off plus employee pricing! I thought I got a fair deal back on 6-18-08. They have to be giving them away by now if you can find one!
