haha are you talking about that post that happened along time ago about the guy not being able to park his truck in his driveway?

i have an 07 mark lt and i love it. compared with my best friends f150, its ride is softer (they softened the suspension in 07), it's quieter (more sound deadening material), the seats are much more comfortable (completely different seats than lariat), and it turns a hell of alot of heads. dont get me wrong, the f150 is an awesome truck, but the mark lt is for those of us that dont want to see another truck identical to ours at every stoplight.

Hmmmm... I seem to remember that the Mark LT's have 4V Heads. That's a major difference.

Saying a Mark LT and a F-150 are the same is like saying a Mustang GT and a MACH 1 are the same.

1.) wrong. No 4 valve.

2.) wrong. Its closer to comparing a F150 XLT and a F150 XL.

for the last time, the only difference is cosmetic. Suspension is the same. Engines are the same. Frame is the same. Axles are the same. Trans is the same. EVERYTHING except cosmetic stuff to make it "look pretty".

Seats are more comfortable ? Same design. Different leather. And slightly more lateral support. Not a big difference if you ask me, but I could be wrong. Oh, and the wood inside "is real". Well they did an excellent job, but its still "simulated wood grain". Just so yall know. Lots of wrong or misinformed statements in this thread.

Mark Lt's have the option for the memory side view mirrors. I know this sounds like a minor thing, but when you have two drivers for the same vehicle it get frustrating moving both side view mirrors every time you get in the truck!

the suspension setup IS the same. the suspension for the mark lt was softened some though, and the f150's was not (maybe due to the redesign, don't know.) as an owner , i can say the seats are definitly different in the two trucks. the lincoln has nudo leather seats. dont know what the lariat has, but i do know they are not nudo leather. whether or not is it "simulated woodgrain" or not, i don't know, but even if it is, its still a notch above the fake stuff in the ford. my statements are not wrong or misinformed. i did alot of research before purchasing my truck, so, in short, I WOULD KNOW.

p.s. on my window sticker, it states real wood trim located on dash, door panels, and steering wheel arc. doubt they could print that if it wasn't real. lol

not trying to get into a pissing match with you. Trust me, as a mechanic, I can safely say, owning a vehicle does NOT make you an expert on them.

You think they can't say "real wood grain" ? What.... you think there morales are too high ? Mine said tow package. After further inspection (after purchase, of course) I found it did NOT have the tow package. Maybe yours is the ONE and ONLY Mark lt that got a special treatment of wood from ford. More likely, maybe the dealer had it installed ?? I know there are aftermarket stuff. Sure would be nice, and I could see a nicer Lincoln dealer maybe going that extra to steer in a few more sales. But yes, the lincoln's wood grain looks WORLDS better then the regular F150's. Even the stock, regular Mark LT's (if your is indeed aftermarket)

Seats: they are built off the same "seat frame". The lincoln uses a much nicer leather, and uses more padding for lateral support, similar to SVT's famed lightning. Basically the same seat, all though I am sure yours is more comfortable. I didn't notice a huge difference, except the quality of leather. Lincoln's is NIIIIICE !

Like I said, structurally they are the same exact truck. They do have some cosmetic differences, ones that some people really like or want. Nothing wrong with that. Look at all the different trim packages they offer on the F150. They try and cater to everyone. But to think you have a F250 frame, different suspension, blah blah blah is a little "silly". No big deal, really, just thought I'd chime in and throw my 2 cents in the pile.

My bad... My neighbor has one and the guy that lives behind me has one. My neighbor told me that his was 4V. I never really researched it nor do I care. I was just stating what he told me. The Blackwood did have 32 valves though.

No worries man. Seems to be quite a bit of stuff floating around about em, not just here either. No biggie. Like I said, I don't care much, just figured I'd chime in a little.

What motor did the Blackwood come with ? i didn't know they went with the 4 valve design. cool info

I don't know too much about the Blackwood but it had a 5.4 4V motor like the Navigator. I've read a couple of threads on NLOC and NHTOC about guys going to 4V navi heads.

lol.....i am definitly not getting into a "pissing" match with you. what i meant about the "real" wood being on the sticker was, IF THEY PRINT IT ON THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WINDOW STICKER, THEN OBVIOUSLY IT MUST BE ON THERE. (THERE AGAIN, I BOUGHT MINE NEW...YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN YOURS USED OR THEY MAY HAVE TAKEN THE TOW HITCH OFF YOURS FOR ANOTHER DEMANDING CUSTOMER. IF THEY PRINT THAT ITS REAL WOOD, AND IT'S NOT, THAN THATS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, WHICH, LAST I HEARD, FOMOCO WASNT BIG ON DOING. but there again, your the "mechanic" and i'm just an owner, so maybe by you being a mechanic, you may know more about window stickers and such. when discussing the seats, i apologize if i put the wrong impression out there about the softness of the seat. i was implying about the quality of the leather itself. as far as the bloggers on here saying they've heard about the suspension being the same as the f250's, well i read in the 2008 lincoln mark lt sales book (for the salesman, not just the brochure for the consumer), that the springs are the same as the f250's. maybe they are also in the same in the f150, dont know, dont care. long story short, you are correct. if anything would alter my buying decision between the two, it would be the overall appearance, which in itself is not that far apart. both trucks are beauty's. the iconic f150 is for your rugged truck guys that like to get em down and dirty all the way to the high class ranchers taking pride in the castano leather in tgheir king ranches. the mark lt is for thos'e of us looking to turn heads via all the chrome and glitter, and the "o.c.d.'s" like myself that take pride in the fact that for the extra money i paid for my truck over the f150, i may not have gotten a clean slate lincoln all its own ,but rather a satisfied step up with little bells and whistles such as "better quality leather", "real wood", (or so they say) and chrome lincoln stars among other few things exclusive to the mark lt.

not to be a smartass dude, but last time i checked, mercedes is not a fomoco vehicle, so they may print things on their window stickers that may not be on there, but i doubt ford is. stick with chrysler, man. lol just thought i'd "chime in" on that one.
