The Blackwoods were only made for a year (as I'm sure you already know) & yes that year was affected by the cruise control problem. I had mine replaced last year some time (I think).

Thanks, did it just quit, or did it smoke first?

I did not have any problems with mine. Seeing as I drive in rush hour traffic mostly I have little use for cruise. Ford sent me the letter saying the Wood was affected in the recall & my dealer let me know when they ahd the parts to do the swap. So I got it done & saved myself from any future worries.

It's possible it was already done on mine too, as the Ford computer didn't show any recalls that weren't done. Hopefully this applies to the rear cover as well. Since Dad bought it from a dealership a year ago maybe they handled it. Anyway, no problems for now. I did wonder for a bit when the top came up and would not go back down, but it turned out to be one of the saloon doors that wasn't latched good.

Still have mine. Has 87k miles and still runnig strong. Any body the sees it can't believe the year or the mile becuase of how clean it is. Just bought a new seat cover from the dealer for the drivers seat. i noticed it was starting to get a slight tear in the fold from getting in and out everyday.I wanted to have a replacement for when it gets to bad. Only cost me 178.00.

Thumbs up

Mine is parked in the garage for the winter. 26K on the clock. I have yet to see another B/W anywhere on the road. I suppose Indiana was/is not a hotbed for these exceptional vehicles. I plan to keep mine stock and drive it sparingly. It is special and always garners comments where-ever I drive it.

So how does it ride? I'm trying to find out a good soft replacement shock for it.

85,000 miles and still going strong. Can't believe I've had it this long.

Still got mine

Original owner...#1174? That 's the last 4 of my vin...assuming that's my production number. 49000 miles.

Love mine, but the tonneau just stopped working. Checked the fuse, looks fine. It actually stopped, started again a few days later, and now nothing. Any hints?

Did you get the module replaced? They all had bad modules and all fail at some point I hear. Supposed to be a recall I think. Mine has a quirk. Sometimes it only starts to close and stops until I hit the button again. #1786, 42K.

The module went on mine too. It was replaced twice under warranty but has been ok since. I was told or read somewhere that there was an updated module that was more reliable than the original one. I asked that they use the updated one the second time mine went. Might be true since I had to wait a few days supposedly for the newer module to arrive when they had one in stock that was the old design. Not sure how difficult it is to replace or if you could do it yourself. There was no recall as far as I know, although this is a pretty common problem. Hope that helps.

I have had mine replaced as well, I still get occasions when the cover will go all the way down and then open up again. It seems to do it more so in cold weather and only with the inside switches. When I use the keyfob, it always closes. Try explaining that to a dealer!

Mine actually doesn't always close or open with the inside switch. Most of this winter I've had to use the keyfob to utilize it.
