What does a green hue on sparks plugs mean?

What gives...some of mine have it. No deposits, just a little green.

If it is more of a brownish color it is OK, I am not sure about green, any pics?

In most cases it means you are getting a little antifreeze in there.....However you can also get that if recently spilled antifreeze in the motor and it seeped into the plug holes.

I did a 'google' search and couldn't find any reference to a "green color". Blue could be overheating? Have you used any fuel additives or it could be something in your normal gas--for the winter?

I asked Sal about my plugs - some were a little green - he says sometimes it means a lean condition, or not the right heat range for a certain application.

A green hue or green 'specks' is a sign of detonation. If it's antifreeze (which I doubt) than you have a cracked head or block or both.

It's detonation , and it only takes one run, this is mine after one 1/4 mile run with a clogged fuel filter.

Sal saw them and agreed the green meant lean. I changed the fuel filter, threw those schitty TR-6's away, put in Denso IT-22's took off my 2-3 lb upper pulley and ran a 12.8 1st time out with filter, chip, + 4lb lower, Can't wait til spring to put the upper back on, change the filter again and go get me a low to mid 12 sec run.
If I can find my old post I'll send you the link where we all talk about the green plugs.

You used leaded race gas in an unleaded vehicle?

Are you running cats or not? May have plugged them.

I did this once by accident and it caused my truck to shutdown at the 1/8 both times, you cats and 02 sensors dont like it much. My truck has run fine ever since I got the leaded gas out of it though. And my plugs looked normal, not green
