just a guess
27K ??? Just a guess. Of course the value of your mods won't be recouped 100%.
Word to the wise...If you are going to sell the truck, take the nitous gauges out. Its gonna sound like bullshidt when you tell them that it never had nitrous on it and they see the gauges. Good luck and if my guess is insulting keep in mind it really is just a guess and I have been wrong before...once.

From my experience all the mods don't mean squat in the valve of your truck. On the other hand if your selling it to someone you know and they want the truck for what has been done to it, then you stand a fair chance of regrouping some of the expenses of the mods. But I have never seen seen anyone get all their mod money back out of a vehicle, but there is allways the first time. Good luck in getting your price
Pull off all of the mods you can and sell them in the Classifieds. That is the only way to get the most money out of your truck. Then the truck is valued like everybody elses. Besides that, most people are afraid of mods and would rather put them in themselves. 27K is way too high as it is. Nobody will even call you about it. The market is weird right now. People are buying new because of interest rates, etc. Used cars are being given away.
I am in the market for a lightning and yes you do have a impressive list of mods but, I know I can X plan a new one for $28,897. I would without question go for the 2003 stock over a modded 99 for just a little more.
Not trying to say your truck isn't worth 27 but I think you would do better selling what mods you can seperate...

I know I can get a brand new 2002 for about 27 -28
Or wait a few weeks to a month or 2 and get a 2003 for a little more...
As was stated before pull the parts - Sell the truck for the 17-21k they are selling for and sell the parts separately

$27K is a steal.
$1800 headers
$3500 engine
$300 chip
$200 pulley
$200 valve body
$150 deep tranny pan
$500 gears
$400 electric fan
$75 water pump
$800 snug top
$300 bed rug
$500 hood
$300 gauges and pod
$500 alarm & remote start
$7000 stereo
$400 traction bars
$400 throttle body
So basically you are selling the truck itself for $10K. Damn, that is cheap!

I agree with Leonard......you just need to find the right buyer who realizes that if they plan on doing the mods that are already installed on the truck then it would be way cheaper for them to buy Graeme's as is.
I don't think your asking to much Graeme......just hold out for the right buyer

And how much are the new 02-03's worth once you drive them off the lot?
With a built motor, your truck will sell imho..this is not just another modded L....probably not for 27k though.
All you need is someone with reliable performance in mind, that knows about all the ventilated blocks and the potential your truck has with its built motor.
You should be able to get 24-25k for it or about what a new one is worth after it is driven off the dealer lot.....even with the stock stereo imho.
How many miles are on your rebuilt motor?
I would advertise it in the mustang and ford trader and put it on ebay for starters....not everyone wants an original new garage queen.
If i were looking for an L,i would make an offer on yours before buying a new one

ib fast, I don't think the engine was a rebuild and it has very low miles. I'd guess around 2K. I think he still has the stock block in his garage.
Graeme, the clear corners are mine before you go selling it!

if i could do it all over again,, I'd buy your truck for up to 29-31K depending on the money conditions,,, when I think about how much cash that would have saved me, I'd be a millionaire by now,, instead I paid 28.5K for a new truck, then slapped a good 500-1K in it per month on top of payments,,,,, if i think about it now, buying the truck already built up would save me a ton,,, just imagine, of course it wouldn't be under drivetrain warrenty anymore, but after saving 500-1K a month for a year i'm sure I could afford a new motor and a new tranny should they break. The used market is very unfriendly to mods however, just look at ebay, most heavily modded ebay vehicles never reach their minimum selling price for the truck/car

also,,, I buy used for 27K, and its worth 25-27K for the next two Years I own it, ,,, If I buy new for 28.5K, she's worth merely 24K tops right off the lot.
thinking of points like this when dealing with buyers will help back up your selling price and keep interested buyers honest and thinking reallistic like.
