Have an offer for my 25k miles virgin unmodded 99 for $22,000. Being modded in many, but not all, instances can lower the value. Especially now that they are out of warranty.

 

27k is too high. A friend just sold his '02 L with only 2500 miles, built bottom end, ported heads, monster box, every bolt on for 28k. He ordered an '03 L and has a built engine/tranny already waiting.

 

Let me rephrase. The truck is worth what someone is willing to pay. There may be someone on the planet who will pay 27 for a 99 but finding him and getting him interested in your 99 is the challenge.

The USED market for 99's is between 19 or so and 22, with as was stated before performance mods being a negatove in most cases. I havent heard of many ( if any ) people here selling thier heavily modded Lightnings for more than 1k or so more than the going rate... Thats why most poeple pull the mods off and sell them..

Look at it another way... Your truck is worth lets say 20K and lets guess you have 20k ( new retail ) in engine, stereo etc, etc. Used the engine parts and stereo parts are only worth half or less to the right buyer. Getting ONE person to be interested enough in ALL the parts and the truck to pay what is essentially full used retail for the truck with all the parts is gonna be a challenge. If you have the time and the advertising resources you can do it though.
