Road course Trends (or those of us with different interests):
Spring
The tuners are somwhat ignored because engine HP and torque isn't all that important. But, there are a few posts about toasted brakes at fun track events.
Summer
The tuners are still being ignored because engine HP and torque isn't that important. But, there are more posts about toasted brakes at fun track events. Trucks show up clean at the track. Most go home with dark grey wheels, boiled brake fluid and some with transmission fluid puked all of the engine bay. We chuckle when seeing all the pretty pictures posted of Lightnings parked soaking up sunshine.
Fall
The tuners are still being ignored because engine HP and torque... well... same story. But the threads and wars are fun reading. There are more posts about toasted brakes at track events. Several have upgraded their brakes, while some have resigned to improving their driving and braking skills because of the high cost of the upgrade. Trucks show up less clean at the track and all still go home with dark grey wheels and boiled brake fluid. More leave with transmission fluid puked all of the engine bay because of the torture they've already been through. There are still chuckles when seeing all the pretty pictures posted of Lightnings parked soaking up sunshine. The only one with a blown motor (actually two), a tranny, rear end and a fire is Ruslow because instead of trying to cover a 1/4 mile in a 12 seconds, he's trying to cover 100 miles of the desert roads in less than 37 minutes, even though it's at 7000 ft elevation.
Winter
Still no blown engines. The Left Coast guys are still going to the track and still come home with dark grey wheels, etc. while it appears that the rest of the Lightning world garages their trucks so they won't get hurt.
(all in jest, so don't get in a tizzy...)

I do understand were your coming from but there has been a lot of inovation over the last year. When I first bought my truck 7/01 a 2 # pulley and air intake and a few other things were available. Now,I am in the 11s and still daily driving on an "unheard of a few months ago 8#".I have learned a lot over the last year and I am sure I will learn more. There is still a lot of room for advancement. I am going to try and take the stock block as far as it will go before I move to a built motor.Hoping for 11.50s with no juice. We will see.
