Thumbs up Trends of Lightning owners.........

Just a few observations I have made since I started reading the boards........feel free to add.

Spring
The tuners are absolutely overloaded.......the new model year is out and everyone wants mods. The classifieds become a gold mine. There are thousands of "Attention Sal" or "Attention JDM" threads. Newbies begin threads like "I have been reading the boards for a while but what do you guys think I should do first.....a chip and filter"

Summer
Everyone is pumped to be driving their perfectly clean trucks. People post pics of their trucks all clean and in different locations/events. There are more threads about wax/polish than you can shake a stick at. The tuners are racing in events (FFW, NMRA etc) and everyone complains that their orders take forever to arrive.

Fall
Guys in the northern US are bragging about cool air and everyone is running new bests. Threads start to show up about blown motors from the extra power the cold air creates. The classifieds get filled with parts people are trying to sell before the winter.

Winter
Even more blown motor threads. Southern dudes brag about still being able to drive thier L's while people up north put their's away for the next 4 months. The winter mod bug sets in and people plan on spending their tax returns on long tubes etc. Not much activity racing except for in the south.

And so the cycle continues..........

BUT NOONE

except me has posted about driving unto the dealer's lot in a 260"wheelbase PETERBUILT model 379 and telling the salesman that I'm trading this in on a L!!! I haven't seen that duplicated in the Summer/Winter/Spring/Fall. You should have seen their faces.

As a long-term trend, my feeling is the amount of new and interesting information peaked about a year ago and it has only been recently the the new blowers have brought back substantial new technical info. We need some aftermarket heads now to keep it going.

As a follow-up thread, what remains constant.....

People read the boards
About every 2-3 weeks some ***** starts up on this board
Owners remain very loyal
Not much activity from the other gender

And many, many more....

Slow Monday eh Sir Soap?...

addition....

Every so often MRBBQMAN, sixpipes, and/or Raoul author a creative post that causes a majority of readers to uncontrolably launch carbonated beverages through and from our respective sinuses, or something.

Post Good Topic

Hey Soap, I think you hit the nail right on the head, alot of stuff goes on at different times during the year. I think it's cool though because what would all of us Lightning owners be doing if Ford didn't bring back the L in its present form. I know it's an expensive "hobby", but I truly enjoy showing many "high performance" vehicles my taillights during a trip down the strip, later, John H.

new owners.....

Soon-to-be new owners start tracking their trucks about now, only to experience the joys of delayed deliveries.

Nice post soap

Lets see,,,,,very good observations, very true

But that brings me to two questions:

You mean I can use my tax refund for LT's?

and

What did I f*cking do wrong, that you are bored at work, posting during the afternoon, and Iam busting my a$$, pulling on chain blocks and getting burnt?
