TYPHOON??? please dont make me laugh
my times
My 13.306 @102.59 was done on F1's. I have a stock replacement K&N (not the fancy cone style) and traction bars (but I don't think they are helping the F1's). If I recall Dr.D ran his 13.27 BONE stock. My best time without my K&N and traction bars was 13.42 and I have about 150 extra pounds added to the truck (snuglid and stereo). For the record I do like the Sy/Tys. Owning a GN and all I know the power a turbo'd V6 can put down.

As for the price, you must have gotten an awesome price cause I got that beast for a deal. Any other tid bits you can divulge?
Did you ever ask your neighbor for the owners certificate? I sure would like to get it if hes still got it.
How's the L doing?

My neighbor owed me a big time favor and let his 2-year old, super low milage Syclone go for a considerably lower than market price when he bought his Hummer. That, plus the fact that I only put 10,000 miles on it in the 6 years I owned it and it still smelled new when you bought it resulted in both of us getting a good deal. Sy/Ty's in good shape seem to hold their value better than most others (L's aren't bad either).
And, yes, my stock Sy would beat my stock '99 L in the 1/4. Mod either one, of course, and the results could change. Currently with a few light mods, my L would take my stock Sy (as it would a new stock L, which has 20 hp more than a stock '99, plus a lower rear axle ratio).
Regarding the owner's cert, my neighbor wanted to hang on to it. Don't know why; he gave everything else, including that cool drag strip tree light dealer display, original brochures, window sticker, etc.
How's ole #2424 running these days? I still miss her. Are you still in the Orlando area or back up in the Panhandle?
Regards,
Mike

Joe, I wouldn't waste your gas on that guy.
"My Sy with a stock chip (stockbox K&N, hotwired Jabsco, rubber hoses, Walbro, stock FPR) and 124k ran 13.857 @ 97.91 with a 1.942 60' on my narrow SZ50EPs. I got a couple degrees of KR at shifts, but 0 otherwise." taken from the syty.net website.
I guess they really do slow down after the launch.

Still in orlando, been pretty good up to date, It's certainly brought me alot of fun and experience. Gone from dropping off my old truck at the jiffy lube to now making carbon fiber molds and taking crap apart I never thought I'd get into. I now have everyone I know looking for them and tracking them down, the florida guys really do make a strange bunch.
I took er' to the track once and ran some awefull times (or did I?
) Had some maitinance things plauging her, but took the oppertunity to run. Getting some parts in this week that by all means should put me in the 12s. If you hear a rumbling/whistling s-10, be sure the catch me off gaurd
I'll agree, they are high maintinance, but theres not much in the world i would trade for her. I dig the L's, but they just arent my thing. I think we can all agree, beating up on the unsuspecting is just fun.
My old man bought one that he brought back to life, result is i spend alot of my time dealing with mine, pop's and all the good friend's trucks that Ive come to know.
It was surprising to hear that I payed more then you bought it for, I cant imagine your neighbor giving something like this up for a hummer he probly got tired of owning.
