Cool

Just another troll here. =)

That truck must have serious problems if he really was racing. In my stock Sy (K&N in the stock box, Jabsco and rubber lines to replace dead stock IC pump), I have yet to run into anything on the street that's beat me through the intersection. That's not saying much, as everything good is always going the other way.

At the Woodward Dream Cruise last year, I came up next to a Viper at a light. Due to some prodding by a pedestrian, I took off quickly, though not a launch by any means. He didn't do anything until he saw my little ol' pickup beating him, but it still took him half a block to catch up to me.

I'm not saying you didn't beat him, and I'm not saying he wasn't trying. But that does sound REALLY bad for even a stock Ty. Just keep an eye out when you come up against other SyTy's. =) I look forward to running into something fast around here. I'm sick of ricer crap (stickers + wing = TEH FAST!!!!1), "the fastest 5.0 ever"s, and V6 F-bodies...

For those of you who'd like to learn more about SyTy's, check these out.

It sounds as if there will be a lot of Lightnings in Topeka, KS September 27&28 2003 at the heartland raceway for Lightning Fest. I'm sure if you stuck around KS a couple of months you could find someone to race you.

Joe, I wouldn't waste your gas on that guy.

"My Sy with a stock chip (stockbox K&N, hotwired Jabsco, rubber hoses, Walbro, stock FPR) and 124k ran 13.857 @ 97.91 with a 1.942 60' on my narrow SZ50EPs. I got a couple degrees of KR at shifts, but 0 otherwise." taken from the syty.net website.

I guess they really do slow down after the launch.

At the track, my stock Ty ran a best of 13.58 and quite a few 13.6's. That's enough to take quite a few stock Lightnings

Can I play?

I think the trolls are out because he made it seem like the guy was an *** for even trying to race his mid 13 second Lightning. I think both are right about even at the track, and the deffinate edge goes to the Syclone on the street. They will run the sametimes on the street, as they do on the track. My Buddy had a 10.1 Syclone (bow tie block) on the stock radials. He still had no spin on the streets.

Matt, I live in Hamden. You gotta stop over. A bunch of guys around here get together and work on our TR's (usually when its warmer out). My motor should be back from the machine shop next week, so looks like i have some cold weather work to do now.

Is the 4.1 a production block or a stage block?? I've heard some mixed reviews on using the production, but some guys have made it work. Shoot me an e-mail gn1270@aol.com

Later...Scott

10.1??? Who's your buddy? Never heard of an AWD Sy or Ty going faster then mid 10's,,, yet.

RWD they're in the 9's, but I'd *think* he'd have some traction issues w/ stock radials.
