12 seconds with minimum mods

Curious as to how many members (if any) have made it into the 12 second range with mods other than boost increases through pulley upgrades or nitrous.

What RTKilla said.
I just wish that I knew what I do now when I first started the mods.
There would have never been a 2 # pulley laying in my garage now.
Go straight to the big stuff.

i dont think you're going to make the 12s without a pulley or nitrous unless you go all out in all the other bolt-ons and weight reduction etc. if you're hesitant about getting an aftermarket pulley because of warranty concerns, please know that its probably impossible for a regular joe to squeeze into the 12s w/o risking the warranty by not having a chip.

if you're trying to save a little money, i'd get a chip filter pulley combo (dont forget the plugs) and you'll be aimed squarely at the 12s.

My best time so far is 13.48, and that's with a 2.11 60' (yeah I know ). My only mods are FTVB, MagnaFlow, and cut airbox. Hopefully I will be able to get a 2.0 60' today which should get me around 13.3xx, and with a chip I would expect to be in the high 12s. Doesn't a chip reduce ETs by almost .5 sec??

It should be easy to get a truck with no added boost into the 12s.
What's the big deal?

I doubt that will happen and dont think it has ever happened. But, after just buying my Lightning, the members here warped my mind and I installed a 2# lower pulley and chip.....no other mods whatsoever and went 12.9 @ 106 on a hot (90 deg.) humid afternoon! So save yourself alot of money and put that 4-6# pulley on because once you start moddin'..........it never stops!

Well see that is 2 mods........JDM chip and the "Cecil Mod"
Put him on any other track and he has a 13.2 truck or worse. I will also bet that he does not consistantly run 12.94's.....

My truck has mods done by previous owner of ...

Pro-M 80mm MAF (probably helps a little)
Crappy *** Kenne-Bell chip (doubt it does anything)
JBA shorty headers (know they don't do anything)
Flowmasters (probably hurt things)

My best was 13.26 @ 103.76 on BFG Comp T/A ZR's at full street pressure with full street weight and a 2.07 60' time. With a 60' time similar to what some have gotten on F1's, I would probably be in the 12's. Of course this is bench racing and doesn't mean a thing, but I don't think its out of the question.

Just to reiterate my postion (and the reason for the post) I've already chipped my truck and changed out the airbox, so voiding the warranty is not why I asked. I'm simply curious to know if anyone had achieved such a number without increasing boost or using nitrous, etc. to push into the twelves.

Surely someone has done it.
I plan on doing it, but I doubt I will be the first.

If you had some really cold air and a good tune on the chip, it COULD happen. The reason I say that is JL went 13.4 in his bone stock Lightning in 40 deg. air. But to my knowledge nobody has done it yet.

Do you want to get rid of this little pulley to someone who isn't going to the big stuff for awhile?
