Chevy SS Regular Cab
I think the truck looks good (will look even better when I look at them in my REAR VIEW MIRROR which is where they will be)
I especially like the '01-'02 style lightning wheels.
The interior though (like some others mentioned) looks like it came out of a early 80's work truck. But GM is famous for making cheezy looking interiors. Just look at the C5 vette, looks like a friggin Grand Am inside. way to go chevy!
anyway, I hope they build this thing, it'll give us something else to whoop up on.

Hey i think that truck looks sweet. I am all about that truck. Theres only one thing i like about Chevy, its all engine unlike Ford that has to Supercharge everything to make it fast. But other than that I still rather have a Lightning.
Guys,
you have to admit this is impressive. They are producing more horspower without supercharging. They are using aluminum heads and a better cam. I'm a ford guy through and through but it would be nice if Ford could beef up the internals of these motors instead of just "bolting on" horsepower.
395 hp without a blower.. I think that is impressive.
I also found this article. Looks like the truck with an automatic ran a 14.0 flat. You know a well driven 5 speed would shave some time off of that 14.0 1/4 mile. What happens when someone bolts a Vortech blower running a measley 7 psi. That 395 turns to 480-500 hp. That doesn't include pulleys, chips, and tuning.
Chevy SS Concept Truck
Just my $.02

I read there going to go for 23K (hot rod magazine). With a 10.5:1 CR your not going to be able to push too much boost on these things. (for the slap a supercharger on it comment) Its build for speed though. They wanted to get rid of the power windows but it came back that it would be more expensive to have them deleted than to just leave them on.

ps. I think it looks good.

Horsepower: 395 @ 5500 rpm
Torque: 409 ft.-lb. @ 4500 rpm
Its a high rev engine, just like everything Chevy, so lets ee, the L will take it off the line, and keep it there. The 6 speed might make up the difference.
Compression Ratio: 10.5:1
Look at the compression ratio, if they bolt on a blower, they will have to lower the compression, so there goes there 395 hp.

THe silverado is not particularly attractive to begin with, but this isn't bad, especially from the back. Though I think what makes the back look good, the rollpan with teh exhaust in it, would never pass crash.
The interior is cheesy as hell...I don't wanna hear "it's supposed to be a muscle car" please. If you want something lightweight go buy a civic.
Rubber and a cloth bnech plus the typical 80's GM dashboard.
I think the lightning is helped by the fact that the flareside current gen F-150 was prolly the best looking truck ever to start with. It's curves naturally translated into an awesome looking lightning. It's gunna be hard to make that silverado or P221 look that good.

im sorry the 5.3l can dust any 5.4l ford with no supercharger ive watched this many times over. i bought the lightning because its a hole package it looks badass and has suspension, wheels, tires, tranny, S/C not because the 5.4 without an sc was faster then my chevy :P
