Question Are low12's possible?

I have hit a platoe. my best ET so far was 12.89 but my MPH is up there at 109.83 almost 110. So with those mph I'mguessing I should be going low 12.3 at least with traction. My best 60 was 1.97 but stil spun the wheels. Current mods are..6# lower boost-by-pass, chip, elec fan, waterpump, cold air.

Your mph shows you are making good power. It looks like traction is a issue.

I would get some Slicks to solve your traction problems, but if you do get some traction bars to keep your driveshaft at a propper angle so you don't blow the shaft.

Also what kind of prep do you do with the truck. Are you icing down the intake, and letting it cool between rounds??

Or are you hot lapping??

Let us know how you prep the truck, and I am sure we can get you lower in the 12's.

A few weekends ago in great air my buddy ran a 12.22 @ 109.

His mods are 6# lower, plugs, chip, filter, e fan, waterpump. He also had Metco lower track links and ET Streets. He raced at full weight even the hitch, spare. His 60' time was 1.65 on the stock convertor.

So anotherwords........such as hell is possible.

It sounds like traction is definately a problem. You should be running at least mid to low 12's. Get some E.T. Streets, and, like Don said, some traction bars.

Don, I always ice down the truck inbetween runs, I also run the IC pump. And run my fan for about 5 mins. I have a set of bogarts with ET streets on them but I havent gotten the time to get them on yet. I run the F1's with 25 psi I tok of the hitch and ran with half a tank of gas. Hopefully with the slicks i will see the improvments

I don't have a 32 valve motor, and the rear entry 112 is being rebuilt, but the truck runs real strong. I do have a built bottom end, and some head work, but still a 2v engine.

Work on your 60ft times also. So far my best 60ft is 1.99. But I do know a few guys who have gotten much lower then that without slicks.
