I got a silver one too. I'm goona have to raise the MAF a tad as the Fast Air(bracket) is a little too short/low. FYI(those that don't have one already), you really have to grind the ridge off of the eng, end of the MAF.

Yes you have to grind down the maf lip or it will not fit. I just used my dremel worked fine. It takes some playing with but you can get it to fit with the fast air. Thats what mine is hooked up to

It is not 'glossy smooth' on the inside, it has a texture to it, but I think the main point is that it has an 'unobstructed air path' vs. the ribs and such in the stock one.
I was getting frustrated with the maf not fitting, untill I went on REM's board and asked, and they said you have to cut the lip off. After dremeling the retaining lip off it slid in no prob.
Another tip - use a small bit of oil off the dipstick on the seals to get it to slide in easier...
Don - I was also considering a black one, but I'm really glad I went w/silver - it looks GREAT.
