Question Need to know! Question on Headlights

If I buy Sylvania SilverStars (HID) Headlights is there a possibility that they the lights will burn up or cause a fire? Also for those that have purchased these lights, why didnt you go for the Xenarc Standard (HID) or the Xenarc Auxililary HID? They produce much more color and light as i saw in this link: http://www.autobarn.net/silstarhalse.html

I am thinking about buying these and i need these questions answered.

I like my silverstars a lot......look at my gallery to see pics. I would of got the HID's but I cant see spending 600-800 bucks on headlights.

Hey Spank were those headlights easy to install? Did you install them yourself or did you have someone do it for you?

At first I bought the SilverStar. They are halogen bulbs with a whiter colour, they are NOT HID bulbs.
They are described by Sylvania as:
Part number = 9007
Upgrade Part Number = 9007ST
"Silverstar High Performance Halogen Upgrade - Whitest, Brightest, 100% Street Legal

I was not impressed. They're a whiter light, but the only difference was colour, not intensity. If you want HID you gotta buy HID...

so that's what I did...I bought the Xenarc HID system.

It's 699.00 Easy to install (even I did it myself !)
(to see what they look like installed go here and scroll down)

You get what you pay for.

Yea the bulbs are very easy to install....headlights and foglights come out real easy. kobiashi I did not say they were HID lights, if thats what you were saying. I think that you will find that a lot of guys here will spend a ton of money on the truck but not $700 on headlights. I'll get HID lights when they come with a vehicle.

SVT Lightning27 -

From your wording (If I buy Sylvania SilverStars (HID) Headlights ) I thought you might be under the impression that the SilverStar Bulbs were HID.
No dis intended...just wanted to make sure you were aware they were not hid. Didn't wnat you to buy them and be disappointed.

Good luck whichever your decision.

Also, is your L 99 or 00? If so, just double check the foglamp part number because if I'm not mistaken, they may have changed in 2001.

K
